That is the point Tezz of man made religions. They want to make their own rules..
As with the Mormon founder saying God spoke to him.

God was never a hateful God by the way.. That is how you interpet Him :)

And there are racists every place not just in churches

I don't believe in man made rules Tezz.. That is why some churches and their doctrine is not from God or the Bible..

When a man says Oh God told me he left some things out of the Bible. But he told me in secret. I would say that is a bit odd.

And churches only change from pressure and being racist is quite a pressure considering God is against it.

God in the OT was just at the time more hands on so to speak.. When Jesus came God stopped all the destruction.. Jesus came to fulfill.

And your analogy of a man beating his wife is not a good one..

But.. There will be at end times during the tribulation things that may to you look like the OT was a walk in the park.

My point is that i see a parallelism between Mormons who realize (because of mentality changes etc...) their mistake and they stopped judging people with black skin is the same as a mentality change between the old and the new testament.

But with this thread, i was wondering why Christians can be racist since they follow Jesus Christ. After all, it shows that Christians aren't perfect because everything was man made.

Mormons don't and that is why they were. Until they were pressured.

Tezz.. Believers do believe that the Bible was inspired by God..
And yes it is very different when a man comes a long and lies and says God told me he forgot a few things .. So let me correct it and start a new brain washing cycle.

The mormon faith was brought about during what was then a very much racialist society. It wasn't deemed to be wrong to disallow anyone with coloured skin from entering the faith. As times progressed and as racialism and racial hatred was becoming more known and to what extent people were being persecuted, it was then that the mormon faith changed their works, their bibles and their deeds in order for them to remain/considered a legitimate faith. The mormon works continue to evolve to suit the times.

I CHRONICLES 21: And SATAN stood up against Israel, and provoked David to number Israel.

It's all kinda up in the air depending on how you read. ; )

I personally know a Mormon. Black people are members of the church. I wouldn't call that racism.

And here is just a general observation. Racism exists everywhere and with various groups. So why single out one group/location when racism is so diversely practiced? Just a few thoughts of mine.

I have a feeling this conversation is going to get deep, so off I go to lighter topics :)))

Nothing odd about it.. Satan has free reign now. People blame God for everything. Sickness.. hunger etc.. It is free will. We go it just as Satan did.. And God is more concerned with our eternity. Jesus himself said there will always be people hungry.. He could have fixed that but again here is not where we should lay our treasures. Including food. We are all going to die in the flesh.. Some will have eternal life . Some wont. That is just a fact .. Of course to those who believe the bible.

Tezz I think you just go searching for things in the Bible to make God look like a vicious monster... I have no idea why you do that?
If you read the bible with the understanding and guidance of the Holy Spirit. You may see things in a different light.

Tezz there is only one God. The God you see as a monster is how you interpet HIM.

And we are not in any postion to judge our creator for His actions.. A lot of what you see as evil was done for the good of man.. Sodom and Gomorrah. You think that God was not just for destroying it?

All things that God does is for us. Whether you see it that way or not. :)
