This challenge is open to all. It runs until Tuesday Nov 25 at 6PM EDT. Its purpose is to give people a forum to have their songs heard. There is no judging involved. Everyone who participates is a winner.
PLEASE READ THESE GUIDELINES AND THE THEME DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY BEFORE POSTING
1. Post ONE OR TWO songs that fit the theme. You may post a THIRD one on or after Thursday. You may post a FOURTH song on or after Saturday. Your song can be a new song or one that was already recorded.
**2. For EACH song you post, listen to at least SIX other people?s songs and leave feedback. That means, if you post 2 songs you should listen to 12 others over the course of the 7 days of the challenge, a little less than 2 a day. If you post 3 songs, listen to 18 others and so on. You may, of course, listen to more if you choose.
Listening is the most important part of this challenge. Supporting and experiencing others is what it's about.
3. We prefer to listen to the whole song. Try not to listen to the same people every day. Give new people a chance as well.
4. Please do not post glitter or large graphics as feedback or in the thread.
5. You don't need to post a song to listen but you need to listen if you post a song. It's best to post earlier in the challenge. But you can post up until the end.
6. Please avoid making multiple posts in a row by going back and editing your posts if you left something out. You have 30 minutes after you post to add to or correct your post by using the EDIT button.
New challenge themes are announced every Tuesday at 6PM EDT.

Hi Janet ...hmmm it's the 90s ...yes, well that's a challenge for me ...I'd better learn something then ayyyy?
We're currently in the middle of a colossal rain storm ...woooohooo ...the rodeo grounds are awash ...our flock of hitherto peacefully grazing resident kangaroos have scarpered ...& I nearly got marooned in the ladies' loo just now
So it's going to be interesting staying up here through the Wet Season! which hasn't even started yet ...or has it? looking out the door we're apparently about to become Noah's Ark & float away LOL ...oh well ...kangas are hopping through the 'lake' now ... they're so cute :-)
Awwww post me a picture of your kangas, I want to see them, put a number 90 on them, nobody will notice :D Or, better still find a herd? Of 90! Actually must be something else to see a rainstorm like that for the first time? And about 10 mins into it start to panic...
You'll need to find a rain song! :D Good to see you!
Oooo lookiesee! These two images:
and See those blue bits with the most rain? On image b in particular... well, I live there, yes, most rainfall in the UK during the 90's, typical! And yes, I was living there then too. Umbrella sales would have had a field day!
Edit: Um, hang on, LOL two a's don't make a b!
Haha, the image is actually called extreme rain... bit like extreme ironing!
EDIT: Okay, explanation, extreme ironing is a British Sport... Bruce, expect to see it in the Olympics when you come over... hur hur hur..
EDIT: Tee hee hee, you're all stumped again aren't you? Either that or I posted on the wrong day in the wrong forum... :P
EDIT: vvv whilst you were wearing them Woof? Now imagination see prostrate Woof suspended mid-air with tongue handing out, Mom over top with iron... like the magic tricks - woof in shorts tee hee ...

My mother used to do "extreme ironing".. she could do four shirts and a necktie in under ten minutes while my brother's and I were scrambling to get ready for school pictures...

We moved to a new van park in the countryside today & so we've settled in for working during the wet season until about April when we'll make the trek over the top of Oz to Darwin & WA ...hopefully with fatter wallets by then
...A nice friendly mob here so we should have some good times together.
...I've caught up to here with listens and so now my ears are smiling from ...errrmmm ...ear to ear I guess :-)
Good morning! Trust you all had a nice evening, and are now er sleeping? Hope to work on my own song today if I can, yeah, I haven't done it either sooooo. But at least I know what I want to do, I think?
Okay, going to catch up!
Kinda dull over here, like it hasn't woken up yet... perhaps the alarm didn't go off? And ohhhhh so quiet! Come on! Snore louder please... I feel quiet alone!
Oooo Jenny I wish you luck with those rainstorms and work, I still think you're incredibly brave with your trip but ohhhh so exciting!!!! :D
Good morning, Mike! Good night, Jenny! :-) I'm Woofie's echo. ;-)
Thought I'd put in one more song for this challenge. A good excuse to do this song. Been wanting to sing this. he he. This time it's in the Top 100. This one was no. 2 in the UK Singles Chart and no. 8 in the US Hot 100.
The 1990s are generally looked on in a positive light in the world for their economic prosperity and social progression in the realms of feminism, environmentalism, racial equality and technology.
They are viewed negatively in fewer senses, but certain issues, such as a perceived decline in the quality of music and the music industry, a rise in the occurence of youth violence and the first reported school shootings, and especially obscene pop culture unknown in the 1980s.
The 1990s are characterized as a decade by a backlash against the materialism of the 1980s (which by 1997 had largely faded with the return of teen pop and the dot-com boom), fashion that did not evoke strong feelings (such as flannel), a mix of extremely mainstream pop and hip hop and alternative rock and indie music, an obsession with digital technology, and various fads including Power Rangers, Pogs, Pokemon, and snap bracelets. ..." Wiki
Er. Music, yeah, I remember thinking those years were kinda iffy - why maybe we don't have too many songs yet, (chuckles) but there were some great ones too, maybe not on Snap eh? Grrr.
Technology! Yeah! Computers!!! Expensive but bought my first home one in 1996 I think, prior to that I ran my business via an electronic typewriter for a few years... my first computer wasn't huge - and Escom (British cheapy) with wow something like 60mb hard-drive? :D £999 it set me back! My printer - still going but ohhhhh bad - HP 550 colour, one of the first £499 - you can buy a laptop for that these days!!! (edit) I first found the net in 1998... Ohhh I fell in love with the whole world... so much to look at, learn, and now with places like this, interact... best invention ever.
POKEMON ... oh how I fell in love with those little critters, we still have tons of the cuddlies here ... There was a time you could 'liken' yourself to a Pokemon character ... I always wanted to be Skitty LOL. Um (blush) ...
I wonder what was obscene pop culture? Is that possible, sounds like an oxymoron to me... hehehe.
:-) Am I waffling? Mmmmm waffles, actually, I'm, er, not to fond of them... too sweet. Why am I confusing myself?
EDIT: Um, sorry I didn't get to do my song yet... have to try later... much later...

Ha ha Janet, your computer must be colored already. Ours in the early 90s were the green screen and you boot up by inserting the floppy disk! No hard drives too! It crashed while I was doing my thesis and I had to do it all over again. :'(
Around the late 90s, I remember playing the computer game - Where in the world is Carmen San Diego! I have travelled the world playing that game and discovered places I never knew! Hee hee.
Okay, now for serious matters, I'm waiting for your song. ;-P

Thanks for that capsule on the 90s, Janet. I'm starting to rememeber now lol You may be called upon to do more of that for some of us whose memories are starting to go.
Seems to me the word bish figured heavily in a lot of the songs my daughter was listening to somewhere in there...

Morning all!
I have the day off, so I'll be drifting in and out. I am making lasagna, so I'll listen as I cook. If my comments are shorter than normal, it's cuz I don't want to get food all over my computer...
My mom, dad, and sister arrive today for two weeks. I look forward to getting my mom to sing on here. She's excellent. My dad???? Hmm not so much...My sister...well...let's just say...my mom gave her the dancing gene....
Ooo ^^^ don't drop us in the toilet Roberta! Yikes! And apparently if you strike a match in the bathroom, it will get rid of any unpleasant smells, LOL, it's amazing what you can glean on Google... just... watch your hair! :P
Ohhh actually my first computer was a ZX48k Spectrum and I still have it in the loft, along with all the cassette tape games, manuals, Sinclair User weekly whatever it was called 50 copies... and my old trusty Sharp mono tape/radio recorder thingy which still works and had a trusty typex spot at the point you needed to tune it too to work with the telly and the speccy... now you can get all the retro games to use on your computer heheh. Gotta love it...
But that is pre-90! I digress... ooo song, yes, er, working on it ... :D
The Escom came with a rather large floppy thing 5 1/2" which I never used... pre floppy floppy disk drives, which they no longer install in new builds... I always used to think it wasteful to put small files on cd's.
Hey Everyone !! ... Bravo Janet !!!!! // Always providing us a Challenge to sing (Your such an Awesome person) thank you for giving us your time always ... All my respect , Rick
I chose a Rock tune (imagine that?!) that is and was a classic of its time , by Metalica called NOTHING ELSE MATTERS .... PLEASE enjoy as I had to sing it 99 times ?????? lol :0
Afternoon Everyone... HI Janet great challenge ... I'll have to look into this one ... Great challenge btw ... Hope everyone is doin well .. I been Getting over the creepin crud .. Its the time of year .. sigh ... I'm feelin better this week thank goodness .... "smile" ............. I'm gona check out this list .... bbs ...........

Hello Mike, night Jenny (ooo) Hi Deux... um...
"...Zeitgeist and characterization

Hee hee.
Okay, now for serious matters, I'm waiting for your song. ;-P
EDIT: G'morning Kat! :-)

You may be called upon to do more of that for some of us whose memories are starting to go.

After lasagna, I have bathrooms to clean....YUCK!

Dani! Mariah is on that list yes!!!! :D
