TracyB 2.5 hours til wicked1

This challenge is open to all. It runs until Tuesday December 9th at 6PM EST. Its purpose is to give people a forum to have their songs heard. There is no judging involved. Everyone who participates is a winner.

PLEASE READ THESE GUIDELINES AND THE THEME DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY BEFORE POSTING

1. Post ONE OR TWO songs that fit the theme. You may post a THIRD one on or after Thursday. You may post a FOURTH song on or after Saturday.

Your song can be a new song or one that was already recorded.

**2. For EACH song you post, listen to at least SIX other people’s songs and leave feedback. That means, if you post 2 songs you should listen to 12 others over the course of the 7 days of the challenge, a little less than 2 a day. If you post 3 songs, listen to 18 others and so on. You may, of course, listen to more if you choose.

Listening is the most important part of this challenge. Supporting and experiencing others is what it’s about.

3. We prefer to listen to the whole song. Try not to listen to the same people every day. Give new people a chance as well.

4. Please do not post glitter or large graphics as feedback or in the thread.

5. You don't need to post a song to listen but you need to listen if you post a song. It's best to post earlier in the challenge. But you can post up until the end. Just be aware that the closing hours of the challenge are better suited to listening than trying to squeeze in a last minute post.

6. Please avoid making multiple posts in a row by going back and editing your posts if you left something out. You have 30 minutes after you post to add to or correct your post by using the EDIT button.

Please visit our HOME PAGE for a great deal of useful information by clicking the link below. You will find answers to your many questions, including tips about how to post links and how to edit your posts, our FAQ, our chat room entrance, live recordings from our chat room and our birthday calendar.

Everyone's A Winner Challenge Home Page and Chat Room Entrance

New challenge themes are announced every Tuesday at 6PM EST.

Everyone’s A Winner Chat Room
We have our own chat room where you can sing live or just listen to and chat with others in this community. It’s a lot of fun and a great crowd of friendly people. Come hang out with your new online friends.

We have regular, rather lengthy gatherings as follows -
Thursday beginning at 7PM EST (4PM PST/11P GMT)
Friday at 6PM EST (3PM PST/11PM GMT+1). Often there’s a late Friday one too.
Saturday around 8:30PM EST (5:30PM PST/12:30AM GMT)
Sunday afternoon Occasionally we have Sunday gatherings
EDT=Eastern Standard Time PDT=Pacific Standard Time GMT=Greenwich Mean Time

But you are welcome in there at any time as long as you follow the guidelines. If you want to organize a gathering at other times, you can invite others to meet you with PMs or by mentioning it in the challenge thread.

To get into the chat room, use the login at the bottom of the Home Page.
If you've not been to the chat room before or if you need to brush up on the guidelines and how it works, please read item # 11 before entering.
-------------------------------------------------------

The theme of this challenge is… Variety Is the Spice of Life!

There are many wonderful spices and you taste a lot of them this type of year—cinnamon, cloves, allspice, cardamom (all delicious in tea), coriander, pepper…heck, John Legend sings an entire ode to nutmeg in the Stephen Colbert Christmas special (although I’m not quite sure it’s really nutmeg he’s singing about--;)) Actually, the William Cowper quote is “Variety's the very spice of life, That gives it all its flavour.” I definitely believe this to be true.

What I'm saying is that you can post any song as long as it meets all of the following requirements.

#1) You haven’t posted it in this or any other challenge on SingSnap.

#2) No one else has posted the song in this challenge. In order for this to work it is very important that you type out the song title when you post. If you don’t know how to make a hot link, it’s very easy, just go to the EAW profile page (link is above) for the info. This also means you will need to read through and see what everyone else has already posted.

#3) It’s one of your own recordings. If you’d like us to hear someone else, please invite them to join us! We always enjoy hearing more people.

Also, to keep with the theme of variety, if you post more than one song, try to make each one a different genre and have them be from different artists.

This is quite an easy theme and I hope everyone has a good (and spicy) time!

Alright, I think I have read you right soooo, I'm going to take my life in my hands. Today has had a bit too much variety for my liking and definitely a don't look over your shoulder day as there's a steamroller right behind you... :(

Here's a song I did yesterday with rjmusic that is not on here :D and has not been entered for anything else :D

The Circle of Time - Joni Mitchell Bob made the backing track and asked if I would like to join him, well I badgered him to up the pitch a few times LOL but am very proud of this one, so very happy to share this with my friends...

It's probably not spicy, but it does have Season(in) it! LOLOLOL. Ooops! Blush... should be good Tracy ;-)

Hi all,

I thought I might post a song that fell through the net. It never received a single comment until last night, yet I put it up last June. It may be considered seasonal and you will no doubt figure the spice connection. I'm in the process of re-recording it as this seasons offering. This time with a better backing track, better mixing and a more gentle vocal.

There's an old joke that the best way to start a fire is to rub a girl scout and a boy scout together. :-)

It would seem to follow then, that the best way to create a new musician is to rub a female musician and a male musician together. Spicy huh?

Well, that's exactly what happened when Carly Simon and James Taylor married and had children. Their oldest child has established a name for himself as both a musician and an actor, and my submission this week is one of his earlier recordings. Here's...

*** Distraction of a different kind ***

Um... started a thread which I did put in general discussion because I got a bit fed up with songs disappearing/songs not being added etc, especially when requests were made for song additions and totally ignored. Well lucky me, it was moved within minutes of adding from General Discussion (because I wanted it discussed generally), LOL to Website Ideas which I see nobody probably visits that much... probably for the best eh?

Anyway, it's around the idea of sponsoring songs/getting a whole musical added, genre - artist breakdown costs - whatever rather than just adding stuff for the sake of adding stuff. Also with the view of it being open to all to sing. And taking the embarrassment out of sponsoring people... whatever, it's here if you have any interest :-)

Gift/Song Sponsorship?

Bah. Announcement over... 8,000+ views since conception? Oh wow. LOL.
