Also, not sure about the designation of "Talent." That seems to be a dis on the other categories. I also don't see the need to separate Comedy from the rest.

If you just separated out dedications from the main stuff, you'd probably achieve a great deal. And, as I have been saying, it seems, forever, if you just limit the amount of songs someone can have in there, you'll go a long way towards cutting down on spammers. Once they have, say, 5 songs in there, they'll stop spamming you. Though not going along with them seems to be an even better choice if you want to cut down on it.

We all know it's not all talent. Some of the people there are AMAZING! Some are funny, some are spammers who beg for votes and some are there over and over and over again for some reason.

I think the name change would better reflect what it really is and I also think it should be categorized.

I ended up in the HOF after a stunt I pulled and was a little embarrassed to be in there among some excellent vocal talent! (It was still really flattering, of course. :))

If there was seperate categories, it would help a great deal. :)

Actually I disagree here Bruce...for a start I was originally suggesting having a tributes/dedications section, but thinking about it, if this was combined then those who seem to crave having their songs in the HoF would eventually overrun it with more & more spammed cack...an easy way to get into that section would be to sing anything & then just dedicate it to someone or something & bingo....you're in the dedications section...& the idea of having that as a memorial to those members no longer with us gets buried under all the pointless nonsense.

& it won't stop them spamming if they only had 5 or 10 or 50 songs allowed in the Hall because their latest one could do better than one of the others, so they will keep doing it until people stop falling for it, plain & simple!!!

Saying that, I'm all in favour of having subsections in the HoF...all those RNNAL mentioned, plus maybe duets as well...or videos...& whilst we're about it, everyone wants notifications of nominations & some form of search engine for the HoF it seems (well, everyone who has expressed an opinion anyway!!!)...I've lost time of how many times I've seen this asked for, yet still we wait...c'mon lovely SS Staff....now is the time to give your people what they want!!! lol

I VERY SELDOM visit the HOF page for many of the reasons listed by the other posters to this thread. I don't care if I am there or not. Someone had to tell me I was there a month after I did a song just because of a silly acting comedy routine I did to a friend's song.

As I say in my profile. I'm here to have fun singing and hopefully there will be some who like it so that I have brightened their days a little whether it be a love song, a funny song or just me acting on cam to a friend's song.

I don't have my ratings turned on. It's not because I am afraid of getting a bad rating. I don't mean to be cruel. I know that many of you truly love a person's songs and will rate them with five stars. But, let's be honest, how many people have you seen that were NOT rating with a 5 on their songs. I'm sure there are some, but in SingSnap, everyone is so nice that even those who don't sing very well get 5 stars!

Please understand that I'm not saying that anyone should be rated low if they don't sing well. My point is that I don't think ANYONE should be rated at all. This isn't American Idol, for crying out loud.

There are people here who I have talked to who ADMIT that they can't sing and yet want to and I say, BRAVO to them!I a certainly not the best singer in SingSnap. I find that in SingSnap, if people don't like a song, they don't put down bad comments or even comments meant to help the singer improve. I think that's cool. But, they just keep going on and on about what a fabulous singer the person is. It's not right to do that to a person either, especially to those who may need more practice but think they are really good. I'm not saying to put a bad comment. I'm just saying to find something nice to say, but don't go on about how great the singing is.

Those leaving comments go on the internet and get those HUGE Glitter pictures or animated ones which I hate! A cute little one is ok. Just don't get me started on how much I hate when a woman leaves one of those huge graphics of a mostly naked woman on my songs. For what reason would I want to see a mostly naked woman? I appreciate the sentiment,but just because the mostly naked woman has wings trying to suggest that it's an angel doesn't mean a thing to me.

Then there is the thing of going to many of the other peoples' songs and seeing the same pictures with EXACTLY THE SAME COMMENT typed below it. That tells me that the one listening was just trying to be nice but didn't think mine was any better than anyone else's. Heck, maybe they never even listened to the whole thing!

I know that I am ranting.This is just my personal opinion and what does that mean? Personally, I hate ratings, the Hall of Fame and contests. I'm sure contests can be fun, but many take them so seriously that they get really upset when eliminated or when they don't get a top "prize." To me honestly, it reminds me of voting for class president in high school. The one who wins might really suck as president, but he/she has more friends to vote for them....hmmm Sort of like how November is going to be, huh?

Please don't be mad at me staff. I know you work really hard at these things, but I just look forward to comments on my songs from my close friends. I don't care about ratings, the Hall of Fame or winning any contest. I'm sorry. I'll shut up now.

The HOF is redundant and certainly pointless as it is.

I'd much prefer to see a featured artist, male & female, on a daily basis. Maybe a 'popular', or 'most listened to' artist, on a weekly rollover, even a 'best video' of the week, for those who like videoing.

Hell, even a 'spammer' of the week.

Mine is a bit different.

First - I love the contests. It has proven to be one of the best things this site has to offer. Why you ask? Well because I have met some of the most wonderful and talented people from all over the world. I have friends on here now that I never would have met if I hadn't been in contests. I have been in lots and won one! Made the top 5 in a lot and top 15 for one that was so special I will remember it for the rest of my life! I would be so very sad if they weren't allowed!

I do agree with you regarding the HOF. If you know a lot of people you get there! It really doesn't matter how talented you are. So I don't go there either unless I hear a friend is there. Miles and Lise are going in the right direction when it comes to necessary changes with the HOF!

Regarding the comments: I love the comments. Yes, there are copy pasters but I have received a lot of comments that were truly heart felt from people I don't know and never became friends with - one time friends I call them. I really appreciate it when someone takes the time to leave a comment like this. So I like the comments and would be very sad to see them go. Also, I do take the time to listen to the entire song and leave a comment I feel deserving the recording. If I don't like the recording I don't comment!!!

Ratings - Over rated yes! but I like them too. I like colored stars! LOL. To be completely honest I do not leave all 5's - I leave a 3.5 or better!

SS Staff - I think this site is amazing. I will continue to support it through my gold membership and I hope it continues forever!!!
