The F*R*I*E*N*D*S Contest - Round 5

Hi everyone,

Once again, you put in a solid effort last round, but this round, you're going to have to kick it up another notch, because now we want you to sing two songs instead of one (or three songs if you decide to do the bonus challenge as well ;) ), and there will be no more teams or team immunity... You are all on your own now... I'll post our Top 10 in my next post. If you don't see your name in the list anymore, that means you've been voted off... It was a delight to hear you guys sing some of our favorite songs last round, and it was sooo hard for us to eliminate people, but we had to get our Top 10 somehow, lol... ;) Thanks for being a part of this contest, and we hope to see you around! :)

***Round Five: The One About Phoebe***

You got it right, this round is all about Phoebe, the wacky one out of our six Friends. She used to be Monica's roommate, but Monica drove her crazy, so she moved in with her grandmother, and she lived in her grandmother's apartment for years, until she met her husband Mike. She's a massage therapist, but she also plays guitar and sings at Central Perk every once in a while, and for years we could enjoy her wacky songs and funny behaviour.
As I already said above, we want you to sing two songs this round. Here's what we want you to do:

- Because Phoebe's so wacky, we want you to sing a song from the Novelty/Comedy Section

- Because Phoebe's done a lot of live singing on the show, we want you to sing a song with the 1st Singsnap Band , a band here on Snap that you can sing along with. They've recorded tons of songs, so I'm sure there's something for everyone to sing... :)

*** Immunity Bonus Song Challenge ***
You don't have to participate in this bonus challenge if you don't want to, it's totally up to you, but out of the people who participate, we'll pick one lucky person who will get immunity and will automatically advance to the next round...
Here's what we want you to do for this bonus challenge:
Because Phoebe's so in touch with her past lives, we want you guys to get in touch with your past recordings... Go back to the very first recording you did on Snap (or the very first one that hasn't been hit by the lic bug ;) ), and redo it.

*** Trivia Challenge ***
This is a special bonus challenge for all you Friends fans out there. Every weekday (Monday to Friday) I will ask a trivia question about Friends, one every day, and the first person to give me the correct answer to that question, will get 2 bonus points, which will be added to your score for this round. This may not seem like a lot, but 2 points might mean the difference between being cut and staying around for another round of Friends fun... :) There is one catch, though: once you've won, you can't enter the trivia challenge again this round. This way, everyone has a fair chance to get the 2 bonus points. :) I will be asking the questions in red so they'll stand out nicely... So keep an eye on the thread! And if you don't know an answer, try Googling it... ;)

*** Rules ***
- Only fresh recordings are allowed for this round
- Only songs from the Singsnap library will be allowed
- Harmonized recordings, and effects like reverb are allowed; duets are not
- Videos are allowed, but not necessary; we will only be judging your voices, and not how pretty you look ;)
- If you need more time to record your song, or if you have any kind of problem, please tell me so by pm before the deadline... Not after!
- No drama! Geoff and I would like this to be a fun contest, so come in, hang out, share your favorite Friends moments and quotes, and be merry! ;)

This round will run until Sunday, July 6th,10 pm GMT+1 (4 pm Snap time). 4 people will be leaving us this round, so give it your best shot!

The statement was false: Phoebe wasn't the only Friend to play a musical instrument or sing. Ross played keyboards (badly!), and he played the bagpipes (even more badly! ;)) for Chandler and Monica... Rachel and Joey both played the drums that Phoebe gave Joey to try to get Rachel to move out of Joey's apartment and in with her... And all six Friends have sung on the show. They all sang together a couple of times early in the show, and they all sang along with Phoebe's song Smelly Cat... Chandler and Phoebe sang 'Endless Love' together... Monica sang 'Delta Dawn' and 'I'm So Excited' at Mike's piano bar, and Chandler sang 'Joy To The World'... That's all I can come up with off the top of my head, lol... ;)

Not Phoebe, but Ross massaged someone with Tonka trucks... Phoebe was living in Ross's apartment after her and Rachel's apartment caught fire, and at one point, Phoebe wasn't there, and Ross found one of her massage clients at the door. This client was a good-looking woman, so when she asked Ross if he was a masseur, he said yes, assuming he'd be massaging her, but then she led her father to the massage table and left... ;) So Ross gave her father accupressure with a pair of chopsticks, rolled Tonka trucks across his back, and gently exfoliated him with a mop... ;)

Phoebe decided to be a surrogate for her brother Frank Jr and his wife Alice, because they couldn't have children, and at the beginning of Season 5, Phoebe gave birth to triplets: Leslie, Frank Jr. Jr., and Chandler ;)
