Sunshine ....feel what the music is all about and the words will ring trueWell gang....we have reached our final destination on our journey through JUKEBOX FAVORITES!!! Kirk, Janey and I want to thank all of you for joining in and being a part of this exciting ride!!! The songs, the singing and the friendships have really made this contest special.....so we applaud all of you and want you to take a bow!!
We will be tallying the final votes this round to determine who you think should receive special recognition for their performances all throughout the contest. At the end of this round, we will be announcing the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners based on your votes. We thank you for your time and efforts in the voting process and wish all of you the very best of luck!!!
Unfortunately, we did lose one of our contestants in the last round. JDSouter had a computer crash and has been unable to get back online to finish the contest with us. JD......we hate that this happened to you and have enjoyed your songs so much. We will miss you in this last round!!!
This round we will be singing songs from the years 1976 to 1979.
Round 1 - Any song recorded between 1950 - 1959
Round 2 - Any song recorded between 1960 - 1965
Round 3 - Any song recorded between 1966 - 1970
Round 4 - Any song recorded between 1971 - 1975
Round 5 - Finals....1976 - 1979...Contest hosts will select the songs for this round!!!
But this round is a little different in that you do not get to select just any song. In this our Final Round, Kirk, Janey and I have selected some of our favorites for you to choose from. Each of you are to select one song from the list below for your final entry.
PLEASE remember to put the Group you are in when you post your song on the thread, along with the name of the song and the link. AND...please also put your Group designation in your song comments.
VOTING: You will be voting on your fellow contestants one last time. You are still in your 3 groups so CHECK AND MAKE SURE WHAT GROUP YOU ARE IN THIS ROUND and what Group you will be scoring! You will be scoring each of the contestants in the group that you are assigned to vote on. You will be using a scale of 1 to 10.....with 5 being "Average" and 10 being "Excellent". You may use 1/2 point increments. For example….you may give a score of 8.5 or 8.0. Please listen closely to each person and score them according to what you like or dislike. Be sure to leave a comment on those you are scoring so that we know you have listened. And of course, we would appreciate you listening to as many of the entries as possible....out of courtesy to the other contestants. Each person’s scores will be added up in each round and averaged, with their lowest score being thrown out. (This is to keep one person who may have something against someone from giving a low score and bringing the contestant’s average down). You will list each person and the scores you have given them and send this to me and Janey via PM...Janey will see that Kirk gets copies of the scores and it means one less person you need to PM. DO NOT POST ANY SCORES IN THE THREAD!!! If you have any questions, please contact one of us via PM.

RULES FOR THIS ROUND:
1. Song selected must come from the list of songs provided by the hosts and of course must be recorded from the SS catalog.
2. NO Pre-Records....songs must be posted after the posting date/time of each round.
3. Song repeats are allowed, however, we really would like to hear as many of our favorite songs listed as possible.
4. You will have 48 hours to get your entry in and 24 hours after the entry deadline to get your scores in for the round.
5. DEADLINE FOR ENTRIES THIS ROUND IS FRIDAY, OCTOBER 17, 2008....6:00PM SS TIME.
6. DEADLINE FOR VOTING THIS ROUND IS SATURDAY, OCTOBER 18, 2008....6:00PM SS TIME.
7. You must post the song before the song entry deadline or you will be Disqualified.
8. Your voting must be in before the voting deadline or you will be Disqualified.
9. Unless there are some real unexpected circumstances, the original deadline will NOT be extended. If something does come up, please PM me, Janey or Kirk and we will determine if there is a valid reason for an extension.
10. NO DRAMA on the thread....PLAIN AND SIMPLE!!!
11. Most important of all.....HAVE FUN!!! We truly want this to be a contest you enjoy!!!!

Good morning all, thank you Dianne, Janey and Kirk for the wonderful contest that you have run, it is so sad that we are coming to an end. I look at those songs and think what an interesting vinyl collection you all must have, great diversity of songs as there have been all through this contest, it has been such wonderful fun.

Hi! I'm contestant #4 in Group C and here's my entry for Round #5: JUST WHEN I NEEDED YOU MOST by the late Randy Vanwarmer. Had to do this one 11 times due to the non-cooperation of my fading falsetto. This was my final try!
