Does anyone have issues like me with weight? I'm trying xenical, its a pill thats blocks 30% of fat in the food you eat before it is absorbed in the body. I have heard some pretty good results with it, so i i figured its worth a try.. Anyone have any other Meds. thats available for weight loss that actually works?
No Don't ...STOP! That stopp make you leak Oil. What I mean is it will make your bum leak like a hole in a hose. Why because it cause you to leak Fatty Oils. And it will not make you loose weight. I KNOW..been there done that.
And if you decide to be FOREWARNED...you will ruin clothes and any place you sit that is made of cloth. No Kidding.
IF you want to REALLY LOSE WEIGHT...you have to think differently. Know what is Good for you, and don't eat Deep Fried or Breaded Foods...and a can of soda is like eating a candy bar. ..you need to eat 1/3 Veggie/Fruit, 1/3 Proteins, and 1/3 Carbs. Eat at least 5 times a day. BUT THE MOST IMPORTANT thing is WALK AT LEAST 30 mins a DAY.
I have done this ...and added Swiming 1 km (at least 3-4times per week) I have lost since Dec 36lbs/18-19 kilos.
Me here..I wanna GAIN weight...I'm 43 kls.,,, b4 I ate only once a day coz am so lazy 2 cook ,hehe!..try eating at least once or twice a day, sooner u'll get used to 8...

Here's my problem. I tend to be a compulsive person. This also means "compulsive over-eater". I've tried to deal with it via therapy meaning "Filling void internally" instead of using substance, other people, just about ALL external things I can find other than dealing with moderating intake (which is hard for some of us) and yes, food too has been the TOUGHEST thing I've had to deal with consuming in moderation.. A half a sandwich putting away the other half until later SUCKS... I want the whole sandwich and the loaf of bread, coldcuts that I bought NOW, and if they taste great, I want to go back and buy another lb and eat that too, along with the 1/2 gallon of icecream (that has tryptophan and sugars) that relaxes me..
I LOVE eating good tasting food, and to be honest use food as a drug -meaning carbs, fats, etc relax me, make me feel good. I went on crash diets (because that's a method that worked for me *all or none* with drugs and alcohol, yet of course a person rebound and puts the weight on again if a behavioural pattern isn't used to go along with something as tough as dieting.. Without cigarettes DIETING is one TOUGH thing to do, TOUGHER than addicitions I've dealt with.. You can't go "Cold Turkey" on food, so at some point moderation must be applied, and most of us know "moderation sucks"..LOL
What works now, when the weather permits in my area of CT. is walking A LOT... meaning 3 increments of several miles daily.. I sleep better at night, and since I'm walking off some of my intake, it becomes less of a problem.. Like so many other difficulties, in MY particular case, the struggle I face is learning "balance"
At 5' 11" and 220 lbs with a medium frame, I know I should lose at least 40 lbs, but I don't smoke, I don't drink, and quite honesty, if the weight isn't a danger, assuming I diet too strictly, weight won't be the danger, I'll die of boredom ~
Cheekylilvixen * screaming through the halls of ss* help!!!

Have you tried ALI, it works the same way Xenical. Yes, it is true about the oily leaks but that is if you keep eating fatty, greasy foods. If you cut down on that, which is pretty much the whole purpose and ya end up losing weight, then the oily leaks will be minimal. I think its purpose is to embarrase you lol. If you don't want to be embarrase by such leaks, you will cut down on those type of foods and wala! before you know it you are 20lbs lighter.
I tried all kinds of diets and instead I gained weight LOL. THe more you starve yourself from certain things, the more you want to eat them. Eat 3 sensible meals a day and 3 small snacks in between. This will cut down on the munching, with the healthy snacks in between. When you have your meals, leave food on your plate, don't eat it all. Most of all, DRINK lots of water. I drink a full glass of water before I eat, this fills up my stomache some before I eat, so I eat less.Course make sure that what you are eating is healthy, so that you don't end up losing vitamins and proteins. Also starving yourself, will make things worse. When you skip meals, your body goes into starvation mode and it retains all the fats from whatever food you have eaten and what you have in storage in your body, to make up for the meals you skipped, which then you end up storing more fat LOL and well you don't want to add more fatty deposits to your hips lol. If you eat after you excercise, you burn more calories cuz your metabolism is at a high from it being revved up from excercising. You don't want to over do it on the excercises. Start slow and build up muscle. Soon as you build up muscle, then your body starts burning more fat. For example, walk for 30 minutes 3 to 5 times a week, then the following week add another 10 to 15 minutes to your walking routine and so on and so forth. If you excercise in the morning, it gets your metabolism going for the day. The less times you eat a day the slower your metabolism is. The more times you eat, it keeps your metabolism going. That doesn't mean, be pigging out all day long, just eat the 3 meals and 3 snacks a day and lots of water to keep your metabolism going and excercise. Eat balanced meals and if you are craving that chocolate chip cookie, have one or two but don't over do it. Like I said, if you crave it and you don't eat it at that moment cuz you say " i can't, I need to lose weight" your craving will win out later in the day and before you know it, you are eating the whole package, which completely defeats the purpose. Then your self esteem goes down cuz you don't have the will power and you say forget it etc .. and instead of losing you gain lol. Eat that one cookie and move on .. your craving will have been satisfied. I buy the low calorie snacks for those chocolate or sugar cravings. That way you fullfill the craving and at the same time it aint high in fat/calories.
Incidently, I think those that have recently quit smoking, and are overcoming that arduous challenge should NOT beat themselves up for some weight gain that usually accompanies the cessation of cigarettes (another damn tough habit to overcome).. Most that have recently quit smoking *will* put on some weight, (because we aren't perfect and not all follow 100% of a proper behavioural program that deals with the side-affects or displacement aspects that often accompany the cessation of a bad habit- meaning displacement mechs, and aspects of what the drug (as in the case of cigarettes) was doing physically IE... In the case if ciggy's, not just hand mouth action, but also a stimulat substance that would be conducive to gaining less weight- but sometimes we must way out the pros and cons of certain substituted behaviours) but DO NOT inundate yourself trying to conquer everything at once.. Be happy you quit ciggies first (assuming this is applicable in this case), and after you've given that (over a year) to deal with, later concern yourself with the weight gain.. We can't do it all without torturing ourselves.
I seriously would try behavioural changes such as increasing your metab by exercizing BEFORE resorting to drug therapy to increase your metab.. Exercize need not be extremely difficult, make time in your life to walk at least a mile several times a week if possible... assuming you've tried most natural means, and you've found that a concerted effot at exercize isn't helping- only at that point ponder chemical means. Brisk walking and it's overall positive affects or frequently underestimated.
Another often overlooked aspect when dealing with these toughest issues (we can encounter in terms of making changes) is how badly do you REALLY want to make this change ? These are difficult, and a person must really (and I can't stress how badly really wanting to do something means in these cases) want to do this with every bit of their mind and body...
I can honestly tell you first hand, that dieting was tougher for me than giving up opiates, certain narcotics, barbs, benzo's, alcohol, and cigarettes. I allow myself caffeine now although that's at nasty quantity now... Dieting is difficult, don't underestimate how tough it is... a bite of good food creates a major temptation, you can't go cold turkey on food as I stated.. For some of us moderation is what makes this so tough regarding something you can just walk away from and say "This is poison for me". So you must REALLY want to do this with every oz of everything you have ! What are the gains of losing weight in your particular case ? Do they supercede the gains you feel from being heavier ? This isn't as obvious as one might think, reason being, psychologically, I feel much better heavier ~ (meaning tradeoffs you are willing to make)
I used to be 18 stone (252 lbs). Im down to 15.2 (212). Still 3 stones away from my target. My way of losing weight: Eat less, eat regular, do a little exercise and have lost of sex hehe.

Hi And thanks for the info. Actually i have used Herbalife before, and did lose with it, the only thing is after about a year of taking it, all the pills made me sick at mt stomach, i couldnt bear to swallow another one, so i stopped taking it, I did like the shakes though...If i remember correctly, i drank the shake for breakfast, and then ate salad, with chicken breast and a roll, and the dinner meal was another shake...

Hi cheeky, Acutally alli is xenical, its just the over the counter name for it, and it is half the dosage.. but it is the same meds.
I have always had a struggle with my weight! My teenage years were really the worst as I always thought I was fat. I cannot remember ever weighing more than 105 lbs during high school. What I wouldn't give to weigh that again...;)
After giving birth to my third child (@ age 21) I pretty much gave up on being obsessed with my weight. I weighed 198 when I delivered and at my 6 wk. check-up weighed 175. Over the next few years I gained more weight and was back at 198(I'm 5'6)! I stayed that size until I was 27. I went from 198 to 131 in 2 months. You already know I did it the wrong way from the time frame. I ate absolutely nothing. I didn't give up soda, which will keep the weight on you, but instead only lived on soda and a daily vitamin. I never was a water drinker. I went from a size 18 to a size 4. Yes, it was wonderful! However, the minute I started eating again, the weight was slowly creeping back up on me.
I now weigh 175 lbs and am a size 10. My 30th B-Day is this Thursday and I am committed to losing some weight and maintaining a healthy weight. I have always been the world's worst at dieting until I lost 5-10 lbs then quitting the diet. This is a very very bad way to diet, I might add! I always seem to gain weight during the winter. This winter I gained 40 lbs. It has only been a week since I have started dieting and I can already tell a difference in the way my jeans fit. This time I am doing it the right way. I'm still eating, in moderation and trying to get exercise. I have also almost totally given up soda. That is one addiction that is hard to break for me. I used to drink 2 cases of soda a week, on top of 1 to 2 pots of coffee in the morning. Again, no water. I started cutting back on soda over a month ago and am now down to having maybe 2 a week. I still have my morning coffee but I also drink lots of water. I probably drink 10-12 bottles of water a day easy.
I try to stay away from scales too. However, I did weigh myself before I started dieting. I plan on only weighing myself once a month. The food for me is not the problem. I have never really been a big eater. It was just the type of food I was eating. My hubby and kids like everything fried. That catches up with you! The biggest thing for me was implementing water into my daily life. And as stated before, drinking a glass/bottle of water before you eat helps tremendously in the amount you eat!
I LEARNED TO THAT GETTING UP EARLIER REALLY HELPS AS LONG AS IT IS GETTING UP EARLIER FROM THE TABLE....LOL....ALSO OAK TREE ROOTS HELP....... WHEN YOU HAVE TO WORK AT TAKING THEM OUT! WHAT I'M TRYING TO SAY IS THAT MORE ACTIVITY REALLY HELPS.......HEY BABY FROM 350 TO 255 IN THREE MONTH I THINK I'VE COME A LONG WAY THANKS TO GOD....STILL GOT THE SUGAR BUT IT'S BETTER UNDER CONTROL.
Any temporary fix is going to look good at first and then fail in the long run. For each 'diet' that you try, you will lose weight, gain it back, and often gain a few pounds MORE.
The only REAL fix is changing the way you eat and exercising more. South Beach way of eating is ideal. It's basically just good common sense eating, but you HAVE to continue with it.
AND...don't be rigid about dieting. If you don't EVER allow yourself a piece of chocolate you WILL fail. All things in moderation! ;o)
teeny1973 wrote:for me weight watchers is the only thing that works - I mean actually going to meetings and getting weighed in.
I lost 65 pounds doing that.
I stopped going thinking I would be okay and gained 30 back.
I agree completely. I tried doing all sorts of diets, Slim Fast, etc, etc but with Weight Watchers, the weight just melted off. It was sooo easy and it's a very healthy way to lose. You don't "diet". You just learn to eat correctly.
I'm really glad I read this...I was considering Alli after my baby is born to loose the baby weight and then some but after further research into the product...NO WAY!!!!
i ordered the pink patch and i must say was rather good, however looking at a dissuction about it,i stopped, someone there mentioned HOODIA so i thought i would give it a try,it is rather expensive, but very effective!!!! it is from a cacti plant, and has been used for generations by the san bushman in south africa, when they go hunting for long days this curbs their hunger etc i have found this very beneficial. give it a try x
Well - I know some older people don't have the time and energy - but youngen's like 10 to about 25-26, this has worked for them. It's called Dance, Dance Revolution. And it has worked for me. I used to weigh about 200, about 2005.... When I was 11. Then I moved with my dad and gained almost a hundred lbs in 2 years.... When I moved back with my dad, I weighed about 284 lbs. I was self-conscious - I didn't think I looked nice, I didn't like to rink; how much excercise I do a day.wear nice clothes. I wore baggy shirts and big baggy pants - but that didn't help. I didn't like socializing with people because I didn't consider myself pretty enough and I just felt like an outcast. But I finally got a doctor who was willing to work with me and such. She gave me a bunch of papers on weight loss and what works to help you loose weight. And I have a chart. Each time I go to the doctors, she tracks - how many times I eat out in a normal week; how many glasses of water I drink; how much soda I drink a day... and how much I excercise daily. And this has helped me and she also recommended DDR. 15-30 minutes a day, it helped me loose about 20-25 lbs from February to now. Although, I haven't been doing it for the past few months, it helped me alot and I plan on doing it alot more now. And walking has also helped me...
but this is just what I've done and has helped me.

i dont know where ya got that info from iffy,, but believe me whoever or whatever you saw/heard is a lie. no one has ever died from eph (unless of course it was an alergic reaction) which you can get from just about any drug you take, including paracetemol, asprin, antibiotics. any drug is dangerous in that sense.
you make me sund like im promoting a killer drug,, i aint dealing xtc here LOL.
eph does have side effects , granted, mood swings, raised blood pressure, risk of clotting. answer to that (as advised by a DOCTOR) was to take an asprin with the eph.

wingy im not sayin ya promitin a killer drug, lol,,its dangerous though in the wrong hands and how each person is in health and not knowin how too use this plant extract..
this a extract from a web site..diff name of it but its the same medication off the plant Ephedra
It took the FDA more than 8 years to go from warning people that ephedra is dangerous to actually banning it. In that time, at least 155 people died from it," Sen. Schumer said in a statement. In contrast, he said, "it took the National Football League less than 3 months to ban ephedra after the Minnesota Vikings' Korey Stringer tragically died from it at training camp."
im still against it,.but if anyone does take it ,,just be careful,,,
Has anybody read as to whether or not there are any dangerous side affects form crazy gluing your lips together ? I can't find too many studies about this
On August 17, 2006, the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit in Denver upheld the FDA's final rule declaring all dietary supplements containing ephedrine alkaloids adulterated, and therefore illegal for marketing in the United States. Ephedrine is, however, still legal in many applications outside of dietary supplements. However, purchasing is currently limited and monitored, with specifics varying from state to state.
Ephedrine can be used in methamphetamine manufacture. That is why it's now heavily regulated in the US.
Ask yourself if you want to take a drug to lose weight that can be made into methamphetamine.
Adverse effects Adverse drug reactions are more common with systemic administration (e.g. injection or oral administration) compared to topical administration.
Cardiovascular: tachycardia, cardiac arrhythmias, Angina pectoris, vasoconstriction with hypertension Dermatological: flushing, sweating, acne vulgaris Gastrointestinal: nausea, appetite loss Genitourinary: increased urine output due to increased blood flow (difficulty urinating is not uncommon, as alpha-agonists such as ephedrine constrict the internal urethral sphincter, mimicking the effects of sympathetic nervous system stimulation) Nervous system:restlessness, confusion, insomnia, mild euphoria, mania/hallucinations (rare except in previously existing psychiatric conditions), delusions, formication (may be possible, but lacks documented evidence) paranoia, hostility, panic, agitation Respiratory: dyspnea, pulmonary edema Miscellaneous: dizziness, headache, tremor, hyperglycemic reactions
Overdose can lead to death, although the approved dose is not likely to cause severe reactions when used as directed.
Ephedrine can also lead to damage of the brain receptors' over a period of high usage; this is because of its constant action on the neurochemicals. It also leads to high increase in blood pressure which over time can lead to damage in the blood vessels.
Contraindications Ephedrine should not be used in conjunction with certain antidepressants, namely SNRIs (serotonin-norepinephrine re-uptake inhibitors), as this increases the risk of the above symptoms due to excessive serum levels of norepinephrine.
Ephedrine should be used with caution in patients with inadequate fluid replacement, impaired adrenal function, hypoxia, hypercapnia, acidosis, hypertension, hyperthyroidism, prostatic hypertrophy, diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular disease, during delivery if maternal BP > 130/80 mmHg, and lactation.
Contraindications for the use of ephedrine include: closed angle glaucoma, phaeochromocytoma, asymmetric septal hypertrophy (idiopathic hypertrophic subaortic stenosis), concomitant or recent (previous 14 days) monoamine oxidase inhibitor (MAOI) therapy, general anaesthesia with halogenated hydrocarbons (particularly cyclopropane or halothane), tachyarrhythmias or ventricular fibrillation, hypersensitivity to ephedrine or other stimulants. Ephedrine should NOT be used at any time during pregnancy unless specifically indicated by a qualified physician and ONLY when other options are unavailable.
NOTE:Many of the conditions that contraindicate Ephedrine use are found in overweight people.
You know what also will help you lose weight? Death.
The only way to properly lose weight and to keep your weight under control for a long time is to change your eating habits and to exercise regularly.
Most of my life I have struggled with weight issues. I have tried more "diets" than I can count and even some very unhealthy practices that nearly landed me in a clinic for eating disorders. In November, 2007, I was diagnosed as diabetic. ACK! I had fought that dang disease for 40+ years without needing medication. The 2 years previous to being diagnosed as needing medication, I could not lose weight and keep it off no matter what I did. Please don't tell me I should have done a healthy eating program like Weight Watchers. I DID and I STILL gained weight. YES! I exercised also. I kept ballooning up larger and larger.
Once I started the diabetic medication AND followed a healthy eating program, the weight is coming off. YAY!!!!!! So far I have lost 45 pounds (last time I weighed myself that is) and that is after hitting a plateau for nearly a month where I was not losing.
I would highly recommend you talk with a doctor and rule out any medical reasons such as thyroid issues or diabetes as the cause of your weight before you pursue any of the suggestions. You may even want to have a couple of sessions with a professional nutritionist to learn about what food does in the body.
Yes. It is a life-style change. We all are on a "diet" whether we realize it or not. The question really is our "diet" properly suited for what our body needs are. As much as I want it to be chocolate is NOT one of the major food groups.
Best of luck to anyone that has weight issues. Be that needing to lose or to gain weight.

I'll offer another plug for Weight Watchers. It is the single most doctor-recommended plan, and it has helped more people lose weight for life than any other plan. I lost my weight 2 years ago and have kept it off, which can be even tougher than actually losing it.
Ephedrine is illegal in the US. Be careful with ANY pills or diets ... unless you're willing to keep taking them/doing the diet the rest of your life, the weight will just come back. It has to be a permanent lifestyle change if you want to sustain it. In the end, there isn't a quick fix that's going to take care of it for good -- WW uses a 4 way approach that includes eating healthy (nutrition and moderation are key!), getting activity (both actual exercise and simply learning to move more on a regular basis), group support, accountability, and regular guidance from trained professionals, and learning to "think first".
and i been on it for a month and have lost 13 lbs so far!
and i am eating right and exercising and drinking lots of water and finishing my day with a glass of gatorade so that i stay hydrated because i am also on a water pill.
my friend lost 44 lbs in 3 months on this stuff. she is doing great even now that she is off it.
i love it lol....now instead of crying when i am on the scale i am laughing lol.....its awesome. the doctors can only keep you on it for 3 months and then off for 6 months nad on again for 3 more months and so on until you reach the right weight for your frame. and he must monitor you to check you blood pressure because it does make your b/p go up. and you sweat on and off at different times of the day. it really curbs your appetite! i started eating right the first day i started taking it! even in my sleep i lost a pound. i lost 6 lbs in the first week!
all together though in the past month and a half i have lost 20 lbs. so i am all kinds of happy and i will be on this for 2 more months and my clothes are already loose on me!
i am not saying this pill is for everyone....your doctor has to determine what is best for you. and exercise and eating healthy is highly important! i wish i had discovered this pill sooner! and it is important to keep yourself around positive people who support you and help you stay on track. now i am staying away from fastfood and junk. and i see all that junk as an enemy. lol if i want something sweet i eat a small piece of hard candy or eat fat free/sugar free deserts and i watch the calories and fat intake and carbs....
look it up on line i have a great link to check this stuff out...and it even has before and after success stories and pictures....
CrestenPixie wrote:I'm really glad I read this...I was considering Alli after my baby is born to loose the baby weight and then some but after further research into the product...NO WAY!!!!
Alli diet actually works VERY well...My gf is on it and she has lost 16 lbs....if she eats over 10 g of fat a meal and it is EXTREMELEY fatty that is the only time she has "treatment effects" As long as you don't eat fatty you will do fine....I recommend it.
I have been losing weight steadily for 3 and half years using the Paul McKenna way of losing weight.
Basically, and condensing the videos down to this:
Eat what you want...anything you want. Deny yourself nothing.
Eat slowly. Allow your brain to catch up with your stomach. If you eat too quickly, your stomach will be over full before your brain tells you it is.
Only eat when you are hungry. If you are not really hungry, you just fancy something, then distract yourself. If you are in a situation where you cannot do something to get you away from eating, tap the inside of your wrist rapidly, or your temple (wrist works for me, temple is too obvious in company, lol)..this stimulates pathways used in acupuncture, to stop the cravings.
If the cravings get too much, and you cannot stop them, eat whatever you fancy!! But really try to stop them first.
Do not feel guilty that you have eaten something, even though you know that you shouldn't have. This will serve no purpose, and may even make you eat more, because of the guilt.
Exercise will help, and will help release endorphins that will help both with mind and body. (chocolate is good for endorphins too!! lol)!!
This is a very basic take on the way it works, but I have lost just on 4 stone (56lb) in 3 and half years. That might sound a long time to lose that amount, but I know that it will stay off that way.
It's just a case of changing my eating habits, but still enjoying what I eat, with no restrictions.
Some months, I lose nothing, nothing at all, but I never gain..then all of a sudden, I find things not fitting any more, and I know it's on the move again.
Hi everyone! I just found this thread lying around... =)
I've always been over weight. I am 5'7 and 21 years old. I didn't really start a diet, I just started eating less, and drinking water. Since September 15th, I have lost 16 pounds. It may not sound like a lot, but it is to me! =) I'm super happy!
Oh, and Rach, I hope your surgery goes well. I been thinking about you! Miss you much, girlie! =)
missmelissa23 is celebrating her boyfriends birthday tonight!!
omg.
you are totally not alone!!!
I was ALWAYS overweight when I was younger up until my freshman year of high school. After training with a friend, I tried out for the dance team in september and made it. I weighed 223 lbs (ekkkkkk!!) and I lost 30 lbs by november.
However, i became very depressed and starting obessing over my body and starting taking drugs, energy pills and laxatives to lose more weight. I was so sick I couldn't walk up the stairs to get to my biology class!
I stopped after I had a run in with death after an overdose.
Now, I'm healthy, but curvy. I like it that way =)
To keep in shape through college, I joined curves. It's wonderful.
I recommend to any girl or women of any age to go there!!

Good luck with that! I had one done 5yrs ago. Hopefully, yours, more than likely will be through lascerscopic surgery and you will lose more weight than I did. Hopefully, also have lot less complications. Mine was done the old fashion way, by completely opening up my stomache. Which in return, healed slower, and lost less weight than a person who has laserscopic surgery and heals faster.

That still means eating the proper things, at the correct times and "enough" exercize to work off a compulsive persons intake might require walking about 50 miles a day..LOL.. Depends on metab.. . When you are young you can burn stuff off with more ease... When we get to be old, typing and getting the mail just doesn't burn off 5000 calories easily.

Thanks,
Tammy

But hey Good Luck!

for me weight watchers is the only thing that works - I mean actually going to meetings and getting weighed in.
I lost 65 pounds doing that.
I stopped going thinking I would be okay and gained 30 back.

You can't go "Cold Turkey" on food, so at some point moderation must be applied, and most of us know
"moderation sucks"..LOL
Anyone have any cheesecake I can borrow ?

Cheekylilvixen * screaming through the halls of ss* help!!!Have you tried ALI, it works the same way Xenical.
Hope that helps.
Jess :)

All things in moderation! ;o)

And walking has also helped me...
but this is just what I've done and has helped me.

i dont know where ya got that info from iffy,, but believe me whoever or whatever you saw/heard is a lie.
no one has ever died from eph (unless of course it was an alergic reaction) which you can get from just about any drug you take, including paracetemol, asprin, antibiotics.
any drug is dangerous in that sense.
you make me sund like im promoting a killer drug,, i aint dealing xtc here LOL.
eph does have side effects , granted, mood swings, raised blood pressure, risk of clotting.
answer to that (as advised by a DOCTOR) was to take an asprin with the eph.

iffypresley happy birthday elvis..u are the best singer ever:)this a extract from a web site..diff name of it but its the same medication off the plant Ephedra

BronxBruce is editing videoEphedrine -
Legality in USA
Adverse effects
Adverse drug reactions are more common with systemic administration (e.g. injection or oral administration) compared to topical administration.
Cardiovascular: tachycardia, cardiac arrhythmias, Angina pectoris, vasoconstriction with hypertension
Dermatological: flushing, sweating, acne vulgaris
Gastrointestinal: nausea, appetite loss
Genitourinary: increased urine output due to increased blood flow (difficulty urinating is not uncommon, as alpha-agonists such as ephedrine constrict the internal urethral sphincter, mimicking the effects of sympathetic nervous system stimulation)
Nervous system:restlessness, confusion, insomnia, mild euphoria, mania/hallucinations (rare except in previously existing psychiatric conditions), delusions, formication (may be possible, but lacks documented evidence) paranoia, hostility, panic, agitation
Respiratory: dyspnea, pulmonary edema
Miscellaneous: dizziness, headache, tremor, hyperglycemic reactions
Overdose can lead to death, although the approved dose is not likely to cause severe reactions when used as directed.
Ephedrine can also lead to damage of the brain receptors' over a period of high usage; this is because of its constant action on the neurochemicals. It also leads to high increase in blood pressure which over time can lead to damage in the blood vessels.
Contraindications
Ephedrine should not be used in conjunction with certain antidepressants, namely SNRIs (serotonin-norepinephrine re-uptake inhibitors), as this increases the risk of the above symptoms due to excessive serum levels of norepinephrine.
Death.
The only way to properly lose weight and to keep your weight under control for a long time is to change your eating habits and to exercise regularly.

there's a risk with any chemical you take, any drug you put in your body.
if your willing to take that risk.

In the end, there isn't a quick fix that's going to take care of it for good -- WW uses a 4 way approach that includes eating healthy (nutrition and moderation are key!), getting activity (both actual exercise and simply learning to move more on a regular basis), group support, accountability, and regular guidance from trained professionals, and learning to "think first".

i love it lol....now instead of crying when i am on the scale i am laughing lol.....its awesome. the doctors can only keep you on it for 3 months and then off for 6 months nad on again for 3 more months and so on until you reach the right weight for your frame. and he must monitor you to check you blood pressure because it does make your b/p go up. and you sweat on and off at different times of the day. it really curbs your appetite! i started eating right the first day i started taking it! even in my sleep i lost a pound. i lost 6 lbs in the first week!
all together though in the past month and a half i have lost 20 lbs. so i am all kinds of happy and i will be on this for 2 more months and my clothes are already loose on me!
i am not saying this pill is for everyone....your doctor has to determine what is best for you. and exercise and eating healthy is highly important! i wish i had discovered this pill sooner! and it is important to keep yourself around positive people who support you and help you stay on track. now i am staying away from fastfood and junk. and i see all that junk as an enemy. lol if i want something sweet i eat a small piece of hard candy or eat fat free/sugar free deserts and i watch the calories and fat intake and carbs....
look it up on line i have a great link to check this stuff out...and it even has before and after success stories and pictures....

Good luck everyone, whichever method you choose!!

missmelissa23 is celebrating her boyfriends birthday tonight!!omg.
you are totally not alone!!!
I recommend to any girl or women of any age to go there!!
much love!-mj

Cheekylilvixen * screaming through the halls of ss* help!!!Good luck with that!
