and if you said yes you just might be lying. and if you say that you are not well then why do you go to confessions? the only way to be a true bible reader is to follow it to a tee right? so how much of it do you follow? and how much of a hypocrit are you?
I wonder why you ask? Do you really care or are you just looking for people to call names?
I'll answer your question tho.
No I don't follow ever single word of the Bible. I haven't even ever read the entire thing. Doesn't make me not a Christian tho and it doesn't make me a hipocrite. It makes me a human beiing that is doing her best and luckily, I have a Savior that understands that and forgives me.
I don't go to confession BTW. Only Catholics do that.
Not sure what confession has to do with your question.

Man is in a fallen state trying to work his way back to perfect relationship with the Father. He simply cannot.
Apart from the blood of Jesus man will remain sinful and eternally separated no matter how many laws of the Bible he keeps.
The Pharisees kept the Letters of the Law and Jesus confronted them on their sinfulness.
nobody can keep every word of the scriptures but He who IS the very WORD Himself.
i believe every word of the bible . i accept every word of the bible . i have faith that what the bible says is truth .do i make mistakes ? yes sad to say . but i have a great lawyer he will stand up for me when i go before the judge and he will say this man is innocent for he accepted my grace . Jesus his amazing grace that is what i believe .its not complicated its not supposed to be .mix mans ideas and mans doubt with it and thats what makes it complicated . simple child like faith in what God has to offer believing and trusting applying Gods words of life .and if and when i ever stumble over this fleshy part of me its good to know that i have an advocate with the father ,Jesus .thats my view thats my thoughts on the bible thanks
The bible says that the letter of the law brings death, but the spirit gives life.
During Jesus' earthly ministry He constantly made distinctions between those who thought they were righteous because they followed the letter of the law and those who sought to live lives that were truly pleasing to God. His focus was always on the spirit of the law.
The moment He said "Love your enemies" He showed us that the spirit of the law was far more valuable than the letter of the law "eye for an eye".
The letter of the law always always always leads to condemnation, but the spirit of the law brings freedom and mercy.
Be led by the Spirit and you will never go astray.

yes indeed, religion and legalism will always lead you astray.
We have to reach the point where the Holy Spirit is leading us. It isn't a popular way to live in today's society but it's the best and wisest way.

Bravo good for you and your family, God Bless my name is Maria nice meeting you)) i agree with you kind off,
I'm too tired to find it in Romans, but the gist of what Paul said is that we die daily in sin. But through repentance, true repentance, we are forgiven. Those who are saved are forgiven when they sin. And I'm talking about sins like anger, lust, etc. "Larger" sins like murder, etc. ....you just would not do if your a practicing Christian. They just don't have it in them. It's a big transformation to be saved (that's also in the Bible...you become a new person). I'm not going to bore you here with a whole sermon. I'm trying to say that if your a "new creature", saved, your still going to sin. And the big difference with the forgiveness part....it's something real simple. True repentance is the mental decision and you sincerely attempt to not sin that sin again. Goes back to what I tought my own children. If they transgressed, misbehaved, they would say "I'm sorry, I won't do that again". If they do it over and over and over again, how sorry were they really? It's not easy. If I have, say, the sin of lust...and I eyeball that cute lady next door with more than a passing eye...thats sin since I am married. I ask for forgiveness and work on that. As a saved person, I should be able to get that part of sin out of my life.
The bible is the recorded history of the Jewish people, the recorded life of Jesus and the recorded experiences of God's prophets. The recordings were correct. It's the interpretations that I have a problem with. That is why I concentrate on The recorded life of Jesus Christ. There are written documents found in many countries, over sixty-four I think, of eye witness accounts of what he did. They all corroborate each other.
Good post MrsM. I've found few that know that. Some don't realize that the old testament is the book for the Jews. Does not apply to us really, but it does if that makes sense. Paul said the Gentiles are the tribe grafted on the Jewish tree (saved gentiles). He said something to the effect that we have the commandments written in our hearts, else how would we know. (this is my day for not looking up scripture...lol)
There is an interesting book out where a guy actually tried to live life according to the bible word forword for a full year. It's called The Year of Living BIblically and it's a great read no matter your religious persuation
If I had enough of an interest, I could very likely show given posting content that NOBODY claiming "I follow EVERY word of the bible" (barring the exception "with nothing more then their eyes") in fact can. I don't think a person assuming they did would make such a statement. I believe a pious individual would state "I try very hard to be a good person and live in accordance to how I am supposed to" but how could ANYBODY objectively see certain aspects of their own hypocracy ?(most of us have such areas). If you were to state "I live be every word of the bible", wouldn't that be stating "You never sin" ? How can a person live by EVERY word of both the old and new testament ? Do you TRY to ? Of course many do, does it get much closer then that ? Should it ?.. I doubt many introspect and are aware when they aren't being true to themselves trying to uphold such a belief. Now, Assuming you actually believe you "follow every word of the bible" and are bragging in here... You are using religion and God belief to "toot your own horn" and boast.. What does the bible state about that ? Good people show their goodness, they don't type it. Using the bible to try to substantiate "I am a better person" ? Isn't that a sin ?

I saw that in Borders a while back and thumbed through it. Yes if we took the entire Bible literally then we'd be killing people left and right. I'm sure there is not one person on Earth that follows every word of the Bible. It would be impossible since many Old Testement laws were abolished and much of the Bible is just historical accounts, not God's commandments to us on how to live.
That's interesting Monique, and certainly makes tremendous sense. Not that I remember much of the bible, but it just seems impossible that "A Human" COULD, or would even know assuming they lived a life using the bible as a schematic and went even a short time without deviating from the "plan"... Who would even be able to judge, determine, or know ? Why would people even make such a statement... Why would ANYBODY claiming they are devoutly religious state "I live by EVERY word of the bible" rather than "I try to do the best I can?"
and as you stated Monique, would living EVERY word of the bible enable a person to live and function in todays world socially ? How many live just "The Golden Rule" for a full week ? How many live "All ten commandments" ? but EVERY word of the bible.. Is that POSSIBLE ?
