This challenge is open to all. It runs until Tuesday March 25 at 6PM EDT. Its purpose is to give people a forum to have their songs heard. There is no judging involved. Everyone who participates is a winner.
This week, I’ll be co-hosting with ALLY!
PLEASE READ THESE GUIDELINES AND THE THEME DESCRIPTION CAREFULLY BEFORE POSTING
1. Post ONE OR TWO songs that fit the theme. You may post a THIRD one on or after Thursday. You may post a FOURTH song on or after Saturday.
Your song can be a new song or one that was already recorded.
**2. For EACH song you post, listen to at least SIX other people’s songs and leave feedback. That means, if you post 2 songs you should listen to 12 others over the course of the 7 days of the challenge, a little less than 2 a day. If you post 3 songs, listen to 18 others and so on. You may, of course, listen to more if you choose.
Listening is the most important part of this challenge. Supporting and experiencing others is what it’s about.
3. We prefer to listen to the whole song. Try not to listen to the same people every day. Give new people a chance as well.
4. Do not post glitter or large graphics as feedback or in the thread.
5. Feel free to come back to the current challenge thread and write about your experiences. Mention songs you heard or anything else that strikes you. And please go back each day and listen to others.
6. You don't need to post a song to listen but you need to listen if you post a song. It's best to post earlier in the challenge. But you can post up until the end. Just be aware that the closing hours of the challenge are better suited to listening than trying to squeeze in a last minute post.
7. Please read the challenge FAQ on our HOME PAGE by clicking the link below. There are many tips about how to post links and how to edit your posts. Try to avoid making multiple posts IN A ROW by going back and editing your posts if you left something out. You have 30 minutes after you post to add to or correct your post by hitting the EDIT button.

We have regular, rather lengthy gatherings as follows -
Thursday beginning at 7PM EST (4PM PST/12M GMT)
Friday at 6PM EST (3PM PST/11PM GMT) and at 11 or 12M EST (8 or 9PM PST/4 or 5AM GMT)
Saturday around 8:30PM EST (5:30PM PST/1:30AM GMT)
Sunday afternoon starting at 1PM (10AM PST/6PM GMT)
But you are welcome in there at any time as long as you follow the guidelines. If you want to organize a gathering at other times, you can invite others to meet you with PMs or by mentioning it in the challenge thread.
To get into the chat room, use the login at the bottom of the HOME PAGE (see link above). If you've not been to the chat room before or if you need to brush up on the guidelines and how it works, please read item # 11 before entering.

Our theme this week is in fact SPRING, as the first day of spring MARCH 21, 2008, is upon us. Spring as far as it relates to the US and Northern Hemisphere I better add. It vary's around the world but it's our theme for this weeks challenge, Some of the ideas we have are "CAPITALIZED" to help pick songs for the theme. SPRING is seen as a TIME of GROWTH, RENEWAL of NEW LIFE, (both PLANT and ANIMAL) new MOM'S, (BABIES being BORN), and of the cycle of life once again starting. It is also used more generally as the start of BETTER TIMES, NEW BEGINNINGS, NEW LOVE, current LOVE, FLOWERS BLOOMING, LEAVES COVERING TREES, SNOW MELTING, RIVERS FLOWING, WATERFALLS to name a few things SPRING brings and even THUNDERSTORMS, and RAIN, plus it's the most violent season as far as WEATHER. Let's not leave out some FUN in the SPRING, SPRING IN YOUR STEP, how bout SPRING BREAK, (PARTIES, DANCING, FRIENDS, TRAVELING, BEACHES, and having FUN!!!) The months of spring, MARCH, APRIL, MAY. We are open for your personal thoughts of what SPRING means to you. You can choose your own, but, we want to hear why you chose your song, and how it relates to SPRING! Easy enough!! GROWING, RENEWAL (A change of something old for for something new) NEW BEGININGS, NEW LIFE, NEW MOMS (Mom's) BABIES BORN, BETTER TIMES, NEW LOVE, LOVE, FLOWERS, LEAVES, TREES, SNOW, RIVERS, WATERFALLS, THUNDERSTORM, RAIN, WEATHER, FUN, DANCING, TRAVEL, BEACHES, MARCH, APRIL, MAY. So put some SPRING in your step and let's get started! Sing a song that has one or more of the capitalized words or actions in the title or lyrics. My sweet and lovely co-host ALLY and or myself will be listening and here for you throughout the week. Have fun!

I just need to apologize to everybody who's song I did not get arounf to checking out in the last challenge.
Being the emotional fella I am all that heavy stuff just really got to me and I had to try to do it in small doses. As a result, an awful lot of stuff got posted that I never got around to reading/listening to.
You guys are all such wonderful people and I think it's fantastic that you were all so comfortable sharing all of those personal stories of loss and heartbreak.
That being said.....
I'm really ready for a nice, light, uplifting theme!
Ally, Mike, What a great idea! I'm gonna have to find something particularly fun to post...

I have to apologize right along with Woof, I too have not been able to hear everyone on the last challenge and I am still wiping my eyes from my last listen but I am going to give it everything I can this week. I am suppose to be resting and not stressing an what can be more stress free then listening to some great music from everyone here. Thanks Mike and Ally this should be fun. Brook

Okies...well, this song reminds me of spring because it is a song about an eternal hope for a better time...like winter turning into spring. Also the title...Blowin' In The Wind....like an early spring day when the warmer winds begin to chase away the old snow cover. As a plus..I threw in a springy type pic!

:-) 21st March, 2008 is universal my friends, it's all to do with the moon and the tide I think, seasons are the same, we just get different weather?????
Even down to flower growth, England flowers and frost frees about 3 weeks before us up here! Brrrrr! Could still get snow (here's hoping). We have daffodils, crocuses out and snowdrops (just finishing). Isn't this a pretty time of year? Lots of colour mmmmmm. And green, lots of green stuff coming out of the too long bare trees!
Ho hum... well our clocks change at the end of the month but I was always taught at school 21st & 31st's = ;-) brilliant challenge...
Be back to listen to all your new songs soon! Got a bit more I want to do back in the other one first ;-)

Not only is it one of my very favorite songs, but Natalie Merchant is my very favorite female vocalist. Don't waste your money seeing her in concert though...she just stands there like a stick.

Couldn't talk hubby into going, certtainly not taking my 13-year old, although he would gladly volunteer, and I don't have any singing friends in RL, so I'm going alone (feel sorry for me yet?)
Think happy thoughts... I've been practicing for hours and everything sounds like JUNK :(
