I very much believe and LOVE the idea of being scared... I went to St Augustine once but never experienced anything :)

But I find it all eerily interesting!

blaza is growing dreadlocks and moving to jamaica.

When we first moved into the house we are in now, the first night something woke me up. I opened my eyes and saw a young woman standing at the bedroom door. She was dressed in prom dress and looked confused. I just stared and then she turned and walked away. A couple of weeks later I asked a local if anyone had ever died in that house and was told that a girl had been killed in a car crash going to prom. I told her my story, she went home and got a school annual from that year and asked if I could pick her out. I did.. It was freaky but very cool. I've never seen her since.

wooot, i like this thread!

i went with some of my friends when i was 15 in a location where they say they see the white lady. My mom used to live near that location and she and her sister claim aswell that they seen it when they were kids, and she was running to catch them.

so...me and my friends prepared lunch to pass few hours in that location and went with the bike. It was a cool adventure, but i didn't see anything. Mind ya, in the meantime i was scarying all my friends with some of these ghosts stories. It was entertaining but disappointing for not seein the white lady. :)

I have some cool real stories experienced by my grandma. I remember when was kid i used to ask her about this stuff. Some of them were really scary.

When I was in Key West I stayed at the La Concha Hotel, and stayed in Ernest Hemingway's Suite... Is one of the most haunted hotels, and suite rooms in the U.S.

I got a few photos that was weird but nothing to stand out... Just hear allot of freaky noises, and cold and hot spots in the suite, and in the hallway near the elevator where one of the bell boys was killed.

I used to live in this house and one day I was sitting in the living room and had this..well, it was sort of a tree made out of metal that held these little shot glass looking things. Anyway, one day in the middle of the afternoon the glasses in this thing just started swaying back and forth..there was no breeze...no earthquake...they stopped as suddenly as they started. Same house at night..I had an air conditioner vent in my bedroom that would squeaked if you stepped on it. I was lying in bed and heard it squeaking...looked up thinking one of the kids were in the room...no one was there!

As a child, I used to hear sounds accompanied with echo when it was bedtime. Sounds like someone going up the steps, shoes sound if ya know what i mean. Either that or water dripping...sounds accompanied with echo. Had times where these sounds wake me up during sleep. I remember rubbing my ears, and the sound wouldn't go. I didn't let know anyone about it and i dunno why i'm writing this lol. If u ask me what it was, today i tell ya that i don't know but the sounds were there. hmm!!?

I heard it was the island of no return!!! Is where they put all the people, and dead bodies in mass graves during the time of the Black Plague...... And then they built a Hospital there, and the patients were saying they were hearing voices, and seeing ghosts, So the head doctor there was opening there skulls and examining there brains, and torturing them....

ONE TIME.....I WAS PLAYING WITH A OUJA (HOWEVER YOU SPELL IT) BOARD.
I WAS TOLD NOT TOO......AND REALLY WAS MOCKING AND JUST HAVING FUN WITH IT......WELL I LEFT IT LAYING ON THE TABLE THAT NIGHT.....

THEN IN THE MIDDLE OF THE NIGHT, I HEARD A NOISE.
I LOOKED UP FROM BED, AND FROM MY DOOR IN THE HALWAY I COULD SEE A SHADOW OF A MAN......IT WAS A STRONG SHADOW TOO!
I JUMPED UP AND IT WAS GONE.....
WHEN I SAW IT, AND JUMPED UP, I LOOKED ALL OVER THE HOUSE FOR OPEN WINDOW OR DOORS.
NOTHING WAS BOTHERED. NOTHING WAS BROKEN, NOTHING BUT SILENT. I SEEN NOTHING DISTURBED!

FREAKY THING WAS MY DAUGHTER SEEN IT TOO....
SHE CAME TO ME THE NEXT MORNING AND TOLD ME SHE SAW A MAN STANDING IN THE HALLWAY.....BUT WAS ALL BLACK, LIKE A SHADOW......

NEEDLESS TO SAY I THREW THAT BOARD AWAY....AND HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING OR HEARD ANYTHING SINCE.

When I was in college, my roommates wanted to a hold a seance for halloween. They wanted me to be the one to do it since I have that sense. Sure, we got all the things that were asked of us to get for a seance. We held it at 12:30am on Halloween. Once we all got set up, it was only myself, one of my roommates and our next door neighbors. My other 3 roommates sat on the couch scared to death. So, I started the seance, all holding hands, the repetitive words etc .. The guy in front of me was in front of the wall, his back to it. They had their eyes closed, mine were open. The wall behind him, which was white, started going dark and was in a round oval shape. His chair started floating, and he was leaning back, like being pulled in by the circle in the wall. We could feel the pull in the hands. The guy was out, he was no longer with us. He started turning pal and the circle got darker and the pull got stronger. That's when I got scared and let go of their hands to call it off. The circle dissapeared and his chair came back down and he woke-up. He didn't remember anything of what happened to him. My roommates were so scared, they all slept with me in my room on my futon LOL.

I'm scared after reading all these! :O

All this supernatural/ghostly stuff really interests me but I don't think i'd ever dare do any ghost hunting or seances... it freaks me out reading about it! I'm such a wuss! :/

There is a house a few miles from me & since anyone can remember, its always been empty. If anyone buys or rents the property things get thrown.. so hard they go through the windows. The air in the house is dark & very forboding to say the least apparently. Builders are too scared to even do work on the house cos they get pushed, poked & things thrown at them. Hard objects.

The strange thing is though, I have an overwhelming urge to go right in there to check it out for myself... but daren't! If I ever stand at the bus stop opposite, I can't bring myself to even look at the place but yet I would LOVE to go in!!

My brother in law Gary died of a bad shot of heroin in the family homes bathroom, dead before he hit the floor..that was in the 70's....fast forward to 1991 ish...my mother was staying with us in that same house. She actually was sleeping in Garys room at the time.

She came out on the back deck one morning while I was having coffee, and asked me of anyone had died in the house. Yes mom, Gary died here...Oh she says..he woke me up last night. :O He what?!?!?!? He woke me up..sounded like he was chewing at the foot of my bed. He wanted me to know that he didn't feel at peace when he died because someone didnt accept him and his lifestyle..(gary was a gay man, and an iv drug user, and of course one of his cop brothers never could accept him, but my mother had NO idea that he was gay OR a junkie.)
Darn near choked on my coffee when she told me all of this, and then went on to explain about Gary..later that week, she was making coffee, and the under the counter coffee maker basket came flying out, veered to the left and hit the floor. I'll assume he's still there. It never bothered me that he was there, or mom as she is very very sensitive to that.

Shortly after that, she moved upstate to my sisters house, in an old farm house where she saw a little girl with black hair that used to sit in front of my neices door when she slept. Just a protector mom said. No harm ever came to anyone from either location or incident.

Edited to add that my mother in law AND father in law also died in that house, one before Gary and one after he died. Neither of them stuck around, Gary was the only one who just couldn't leave.

Spanky your talkin my language in this thread!!!

I grew up with ghost/spirits/poltergeist and have had a ghost or spirit in every house I've lived in....NO JOKE...others have seen and experienced something when they came over too...in all the houses I lived in....ummmm....This is the 6th place Ive lived in and cant seem to get away from them.....I dont mind though...I think it's sooooooooo freakin COOL!! Just this past Sunday i was sittin here having coffee in the morning here on singsnap..LOL....and I heard the garage door open (the one that comes into the house) and slam into the basement door which slammed the basement door shut....I thought Barry came back from golfing and I waited about 15 min. to see if he was gonna come upstairs....well he didn't so I went down stairs for more coffee and he wasn't home so I called him and said did you just come home and forget something and went back out? He said NO I'm on my way home now.....so then I called my son and said where are you? he said I'm on my way home...I asked him the same question i asked Barry and he said No! Well the basement door was shut which we NEVER shut because the cats litter box is down there.....so you tell me what was it?

When I was growing up my dad had to take the closet doors right off the hinges and hang curtains instead because EVERY night the closet door in my room used to open and slam shut several times during the night....I have seen....heard....smelled....and felt spirits ALL MY LIFE.....I can now tell which ones are good and which ones are unsettled.....I could go on forever.....but one more dont want to bore you.....lol.....I went to this meditation class one time last year...(well it said it was a meditation class) I was curious to see how this lady did her class...(I used to meditate alot....NO NOT THE OWMMMM THINGY! LOL)...anyway....a couple people were covering the windows with black paper and it was dark outside...and I thought hummmm maybe thats how she locks up the store??? She had a store and the class was in the back of the store after hours...so I just fluffed it off...well she had all of us stand in a circle (9 of us) and hold hands and recite the Lord's prayer....I thought well this is cool....then we sat down and she started to talk us through this meditation.....she said please keep your eyes closed through the duration of the meditation....well I went along with the closed eyes for a little while....but didn't follow her lead into the meditation (guess I have trust issues when I dont know the person and not sure where their going with this) so I opened my eyes and i chit you not...thought I went blind!!! I held my hand up in front of my face and couldn't see my own hand!!! I very quietly FREAKED!!! Started waving my hands in front of my face and could NOT for the life of me SEE THEM!!!! Thats how freakin DARK it was in that room!! (And if anyone had one of those camera's you can see in the dark would've busted out laughing at how much I was quietly freakin out!) LOL...Anyway THEN she said ...ok...so & so you are the gate keeper and we trust you to open the gate and keep all evil spirits out! Only good spirits may enter....wellllllll then I thought my eyeballs were gonna fall right out of my head when she said that! LOL.....I thought CHIT THIS AINT NO MEDITATION!!! THIS IS A FLIPPIN SEANCE!!! Then all of the sudden I could smell this musty smell and feel breezes going by me and spirits all around me....my freakin hair was moving when I felt the breeze!!! IT WAS ONE OF THE COOLEST THINGS I'VE EXPERIENCED!! Well then she had everyone talk about what they experienced...etc....I wanted to go back but couldn't find anyone to go with me =(.....ok I'll shut now....lol

My husband believes that a mirror should NEVER face a window and IF it can't be helped then you have to have another mirror reflect back into it (on the opposite wall). I am not sure but I am not taking any chances! lol Also I will never again sleep on my back after an experience I had once with whatever the hell it was. Not sure if there is any truth to it or just coincidence for my situation but I have heard that it can cause you to be more open for "spirits". I know some will probably think I am crazy with that one but like I said I would do just about anything to avoid something crazy again.

sometimes spirits are here to help:

I was really close to my aunt that died in 1989. When I was a little girl ,she gave me an old purse that I used to play with alot. It had a coin purse attached by a gold chain inside of it. I knew that purse very well. I keep it in my closet because I never had the heart to toss it out.

In 1990, I had a really bad accident where my right index finger was amputated by a door. My dad closed the door on it by accident in our business office as I tried to stop it from closing. We were rushing to meet deadlines, ect. Later at the hospital ,after the doctor told my visably shaken and crying dad I would probably lose my finger, that it was really bad, I had the most amazing experience. At that moment, my aunt appeared there standing behind me. I felt her presence so strongly that I turned so quickly and blurted out "Aunt Marce is here." She telepathically told me to tell my dad I was going to be ok. I knew at that moment I was going to be ok, I was overcome with amazing peace. Later, while thinking of her, I revisted the purse. Amazingly, I found a small statue of a saint that was never there before in the coin purse. I kept coming back to the saint wondering how it got there. One day when my mom was visiting, I told her about the little saint and went to show her , but then it was gone!!! Just as mysteriously as it had arrived. I believe to this day my aunt was my guardian angel and she brought that saint to me. The doctors reattached my finger, of course.

I know it's a crazy story, but I will always BELIEVE.

Here's one for ya....
I'd say about 11 years ago we had a bridge in our town that passed over a creek where everyone used to go swimming. Apparently there had been some people down their fighting and one man got shot during an argument. While all the commotion was going on a 3 or 4 year old little girl had fell in and she drowned before they could save her.

A friend of my sister had drove across this bridge one day and her daughter who was about 4 at the time jumped up and started waving. First she just thought she was playing around and then the child said "Hey mommy I think she wants us to stop". Her mom then ask her who wants us to stop and the little girl said the little girl who was waving to me on the bridge. No one was on the bridge needless to say. Guess what bridge they never crossed again!

I got a story for you. My nan died on 27/12/1999 at 2.20am. She was cremated on 10/1/2000, and my auntie had her ashes in a little urn on her mantle. She was woken up 3 days later by the phone ringing at 2.20am, to which she thought "for crying out loud whos ringing at this hour!" she picked up the phone and there was no one there. She thought nothing of it until it happened again, and again and again until finally she thought "bloody prank phone calls, I'll do 1471" which, for any non-UK readers, is how we find out the number of the person calling. She picked up the phone and dialed, only for the automated voice to tell her her last call had been recieved at 7.30pm. To my mind there is only one explaination as she heard the phone ring, she knows it was 2.20am but the last call was 7.30pm.....What do you think? I swear on a bible this is the truth.

I hear ya Eileen.....I have sooooooo many stories about relatives...my dad passed away in Sept. last year and he was just here a week or so ago.....I could smell him and heard him say "relax babe".....I was so worried about my daughter....she had some health issues and had to have a biopsy.....when I heard my dad I thought hmmmm......maybe he's telling me she's ok....the next day the dr. said everything was ok with her.....both of my kids could smell him too....I LOVED IT!!!

When I was young I lived in a very historical town that had the reputation of having more ghosts than people, I heard and saw lots of strange things whilst living there...I have lots of little stories but to tell those storiees I need a dark room with lots of candles for atmosphere lol!!

At the moment I live in a victorian house and one of the spookiest things that happens on occasion in my house are my dogs acting as though they are greeting or listening to an invisible person in the room..very unnerving.

my nephew spent a night in a guest house with his girlfriend ,and another couple. they all shared one bedroom with two double beds. In the night ,my nephew woke up .looked towards a wardrobe, and he just froze. He could see a male figure wearing a top hat .He had no legs ,and was just hovering ,and my nephew could see right through him. Then his friend woke up.and looked over to the wardrobe. My nephew said to him....can you see what i see ? his friend said ,yes. The next morning ,my nephew told the proprieter what he saw ,only to be told that the room was haunted, and that people often see this figure. My nephew went home ,and was really freaked out .he told his mum that he was really scared that this figure would follow him .he was a nervous wreck for weeks.

My grama used to do that....we had this thing when she was alive that we would ring the phone once and hang up....it was our signal to just say hi and everything is ok....after she passed she would ring the phone once every year on the day she died and the time she died....this happened for a few years after she passed....AND after my last husband passed (7years ago) about 2 weeks later the bus phone rang and all I heard was this static and HIS VOICE breaking up in the phone....I freaked and kept saying JERRY?? (his name) then the phone went dead....it rang again right after that and it was some guy with a totally different voice saying..."sorry I just called and I dont know what happened to my phone something strange happened to the connection....sorry bout that".....I KNOW it was him....it was his voice on the phone!
