Hello Extraordinary Snappers!!! Welcome to Round Four & a big welcome to our new League members, Diane (dydy), Alan (desilva), Yas, ktrujillo & LadyKay...it's a pleasure to have you with us :)

Round Four means it's time to don your stetsons, saddle up, get out on the range with your geeeeeeeetar & sing your little Country hearts out!! Anything which is clearly Country counts & with such a huge selection in the SS catalogue to choose from there should be no problem finding something!! As always, if you feel there may be any doubt about whether your song choice is suitable, please PM your judge

The theme is comedy...this can be an already funny song (Weird Al Yankovic, etc) or a song made funny by you, either by doing funny voices, hilarious lyrics, or anything within the song which made it side-splittingly funny. Be warned, taking the easy option of an already funny song is likely to score lower than something you have done your own thang with!! (for League 1 I will be scoring you on comedy value & creativity as well as the usual categories)

Round 6 will run from the end of Round 5 until 7pm SS time on Thursday 17th July. The theme for this round is PUNK...this is another round where your judgement will need to be used as the SS category classes punk in with folk!!! However, the Sex Pistols, the Clash, the Buzzcocks, Lene Lovich, (some) Blondie all count...& several songs since those heady anarchic days have also been quite punky...unless the song is clearly punk I would PM either me or your judge to ask if the song would be suitable :))))

I'm posting the results each time...& as late results come in. The F & A tallies are marks per song scored For & Against, so for example this round you scored 95.7 FOR & 95.8 AGAINST as that was Yas' mark. She beat you this time (JUST) & so she scored 3 points...you got none :(((
The standard in this league is very very high & whilst someone may be 12th or 13th now, that doesn't mean that's where they'll end up...it could all be turned around completely in 3 rounds time!!!

Although the scoring is based on football (soccer), in many ways this is more akin to golf, inasmuch as all you can do is your best each time...& how well you do is very much dependent on how well the person you're playing does too...look at Rebecca's score this time...96.5 would win most matches, but sadly for her Jenny got 97...you yourself only missed out by .1, had that gone the other way then you would have been 3rd & Yas would have been 15th!!!!

At the end of all 30 rounds we will have a final order...someone will be first, someone will be 16th...whereabouts you all finish within that frame depends on how well you perform over the season...I'm not expecting anyone to run away with this...or anyone to be left trailing...it's all very very close!!!

My only hope is that when we get towards the end of the season that some people don't just give up because they may be behind in the points a bit.

Finally, the incomplete matches are yet to be added to the league table...so if we came up to date now with all matches then it would probably all change around again :)))

Feel free to keep asking though if there's anything you're not clear on :)

Genuine punk is brilliant! You will have a great time with it. However, the punk bands are mixed up with alternative and folk artists 'genre wise' on Singsnap. A search on google helps to isolate the right ones.

Yes...please don't just think that because these songs are all grouped together in the SS genre group that anything from that group will do....if in ANY doubt as to whether your song qualifies or not then PLEASE ask me or your judge...some songs are obvious, some not so much so...clarity is always preferable!!!
