**ROUND 1**SING 10 PAGES OF ELVIS!**

WELCOME TO ROUND ONE!!! I’m so excited to see so many sign up for this! It’s truly a testament that “Elvis Still Lives”!!! We have a total of 77 contestants….that’s just AWESOME!!

***HOW THIS CONTEST WILL WORK***
SingSnap now has 10 pages of Elvis songs and I thought it would be fun to have a contest and see how many of these songs we can sing in one contest as a group. This will not be a "Sing Like Elvis" contest but a contest to share the life of a remarkable man and entertainer. We will take the 10 pages page by page. Each contestant will choose one song from the page to do for competition each round. You may sing any track that is listed even though another contestant may have already done it. (SUGGESTION: I suggest that since this is a contest that you choose the song you feel you can do the best on.) Once we go through the 10 pages we will start over on the pages and the songs or tracks that were sung in the previous 10 rounds will no longer be available to sing for competition until we sing every track that SingSnap has. If we sing every track before the end of the contest then I will start choosing one song for all contestants to do in the remaining rounds. Only songs sung for competition will be included in our elimination of songs and tracks. If a song has more than one version and there is still a version left that no one did then that version will still continue to show up in the rounds until that track is used. We are going to start off by having the men compete against the men and the women compete against the women. We have quite a few more men than we do women so until things even up there will be more groups of men than women which will mean that more men will be eliminated each round. At some point toward the end of the contest the men and women will merge together. Your groups will change each round and you will be required to vote one person out of the assigned group. You must vote!!! If you do not submit a song or fail to vote this will sadly mean you are disqualified. I will not be competing in the contest but will be singing one of the songs for each round. My song will not count in the elimination of songs. I do not have a partner or co-host so the votes will be counted by me alone. I hope that everyone trusts me to be fair and honest because this is your contest and you will have full control over who wins. I’m just your messenger. If someone in your group drops out or is disqualified then that group will have a free pass to the next round as long as you submit your song and vote according to how the votes are being done in that round. If anyone has a question please feel free to ask it in the thread or send me a pm.

Yes....there will be a prize for our Grand Champ! This is a beautiful hard-back book that was purchased at Graceland titled "Elvis Presley's Graceland - Official Guidebook"

This book is filled with beautiful pictures and interesting reading. The book has 3 parts:
Part I - Elvis Presley-His Life, Career and Legend
Part II - Your Tour of Elvis Presley's Graceland
Part III - Elvis Presley's Enterprises, Inc.
In each round I will share a little something out of the book with you. I will pay postage to ship this beautiful book to our Champ anywhere in the world.
There will also be trophies for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place.

Here are the groups. For Round One I grouped everyone according to the way you were signed up in the sign-up round. This will change for each round. In Round One you will be voting on your own group. Do not send in any votes until you are instructed in the thread to do so. I know this is a lot of contestants and I don’t think anyone expects everyone to listen and comment on everyone but please make sure you listen and comment on everyone in the group that you are required to vote on. There is nothing worse than knowing that your competition is voting on you and there is no evidence that they have even been to your entry. But I’m sure everyone would be honored if you visit their entry even though you don’t have to vote on them. Plus you might want to check out your competition! I will be listening to everyone from start to finish so please bear with me if I don’t get to your entry right away. I have lots of listens to do…LOL

****RULES FOR SHARED RENDITIONS OF ELVIS SONGS****
I always love to keep everyone singing and I know we all love to sing Elvis but since we have so many contestants in this contest I felt like I needed to set some guidelines for us sharing some of our Elvis songs that we are not entering for competition.

Each contestant or former contestant may post 2 songs in each round they would like to share. (I will get more relaxed with this number as the number of contestants decreases but for right now I feel like I need to set a limit in order to keep some order in the contest) These must be Elvis songs or at least a song with an Elvis connection. All shared songs must be done by you or a duet that you have done with someone. These songs will not be counted toward the elimination of songs for the competition. I will not do a list in the thread of shared songs because I feel like this would be really too much to try to keep up with and could become confusing for the competitive part of the contest, but I will make a Playlist of all the shared songs and post the link to the Playlist throughout the thread as songs are added to be shared. To make our shared rendition section a little more challenging….****NO PRE-RECORDS**** I will try my best to listen to all shared renditions but the songs submitted for the competition will take priority in my listens. I hope that all of you will understand if for some reason I do not get to your shared rendition but I do promise to try my best to get to them before the round closes.

PLEASE READ!! While I hate having to add a “drama” section to this thread I do feel like with this many contestants that it is important to state my stand on “drama”. So please read carefully so there will be no surprises throughout the contest.

With this many contestants I have no time to deal with “drama”. I will not address any complaints or anyone getting upset in the thread. If anything dramatic is placed in the thread it will be ignored in the thread. Please do not bring any past drama from other contests that you may have been in and encountered to this contest. Respect your fellow contestants. NO VULGAR LANGUAGE!!! If you have a complaint please send me a pm. I am very dedicated to this contest and to celebrating the memory of Elvis in a peaceful manner as he would want us all to do. If something starts to get out of hand I will not hesitate to contact staff if it continues. If any contestant does not abide to the drama rules you will be disqualified. I do ask that all other contestants not respond in the thread to anything along these lines. As your host, I will try to deal with it as professionally as possible behind the scenes. You are here to enjoy yourself and I will do all that I can possibly do to see that you do have a good time.

Only one song for competition. But if you would like to share any other Elvis songs you do then you may post an additional 2 songs during the round to share. Your shared songs do not have to be from the list.
