LadyDi821 try looking on the bright side.. it's there if you look. :)
You wore a rainbow shirt that had half-sleeves; the rainbow went up one sleeve, across your chest, and down the other.
You made baby chocolate cakes in your Easy Bake Oven and washed them down with snow cones from your Snoopy Snow Cone Machine. You begged Santa for the electronic game Simon.
You had that Fisher Price Doctor's Kit with a stethoscope that actually worked. You owned a bicycle with a banana seat and a plastic basket with flowers on it. You learned to skate with actual skates (not roller blades) that had metal wheels. You thought Gopher from the Love Boat was cute! (Admit it!)
You had nightmares after watching Fantasy Island. You had rubber boots for rainy days and Moon boots for snowy days. You had either a "bowl cut" or "pixie," not to mention the "Dorothy Hamill" because your Mom was sick of braiding your hair. People sometimes thought you were a boy. Your Holly Hobbie sleeping bag was your most prized possession
You wore a poncho, gauchos, and knickers. You could spend hours playing Pong!
You had the Donnie and Marie dolls with those pink and purple satiny shredded outfits. You spent hours in your backyard on your metal swing set with the trapeze. (The swing set tipped over at least once!)
You were really into ping pong and pogo sticks. You had homemade ribbon barrettes in every imaginable color.
Your hairstyle was described as having "wings" or "feathers" and you kept it "pretty" with the comb you kept in your back pocket. You had to make sure that no boys would grab the comb out of your back pocket and skate away at the roller rink!
You know who Strawberry Shortcake is, as well as her friends, Blueberry,Muffin and Huckleberry Pie. You often asked your Magic-8 ball the question: "Who will I marry. Shaun Cassidy, Leif Garrett, or Andy Gibb?"
You carried a lunch box to school and it was metal, not plastic.
You and your girlfriends would fight over which of the Dukes of Hazzard, was your boyfriend. Every now and then "It's a Hard Knock Life" from the movie, "Annie" will pop into your brain and you can't stop singing it the whole day.
YOU had Star Wars action figures, too! You had a pair of Doctor Scholl's sandals (the ones with hard sole &the buckle).
You wanted to be Laura Ingalls Wilder really bad; you wore that Little House on the Prairie-inspired plaid, ruffle shirt with the high neck in at least one school picture; and you despised Nellie Olson!
It was a big event in your household each year when the "Wizard of Oz" would come on TV. Your mom would break out the popcorn and sleeping bags!
You completely wore out your Grease, Saturday Night Fever, and Fame soundtrack record albums.
You tried to do lots of arts and crafts, like yarn and Popsicle-stick God's eyes, decoupage, or those weird potholders made on a plastic loom.
You thought Olivia Newton John's song "Physical" was about aerobics.
You wore friendship pins on your tennis shoes, or shoelaces with heart or rainbow designs. You wanted to be a Solid Gold dancer.
You couldn't wait to get the free animal poster that came when you ordered books from the Scholastic book club. Double score if it was a teddy bear dressed in clothing. And the posters always had permanent creases because they came folded!
You learned everything you needed to know about "the facts of life" from Judy Blume books.
You wanted your first kiss to be at a roller rink. You had a Big Wheel with a brake on the side, and a Sit-n-Spin.
You made Shrinky-Dinks and put iron-on kittens on your t-shirts!
You used to tape record songs off the radio by holding your portable tape player up to the speaker.

I was in love with Davey Jones from the Monkees and David Cassidy. gawd...Ponchos were sooo the rage then and boots and miniskirts. isnt it funny watching all those things come back in? *sigh...memories

How could have loved both Davy Jones and David Cassidy?
No comparison. David was it.. He was hot. He was cute. He looked like a girl now that I look back at pictures of him LOL. But I met him in the late 80's .. He was in a show on Broadway.. He put on some weight. His hair was dyed lighter for the role. And his eyes were as blue as the ocean.. Then from the shock of meeting him,. I made a fool out of myself. I backed into a water fountain and got my silk blouse soaked.
...your Snoopy Snow Cone Machine. I had a Mr Frosty!
You begged Santa for the electronic game Simon.Oh yeah, I had a 'Pocket Simon'
You learned to skate with actual skates (not roller blades) that had metal wheels. hahahaha yeaaaah I so want some of those adjustable size skates, but had to be careful not to adjust em too big or they split in two! lol
Your Holly Hobbie sleeping bag was your most prized possession. I still have my Hollie Hobbie pillow case somewhere..
You know who Strawberry Shortcake is, as well as her friends, Blueberry,Muffin and Huckleberry Pie. Oh wow, Ms Shortcacke sure smelled goood!
You had a pair of Doctor Scholl's sandals (the ones with hard sole &the buckle).DON'T even mention them! My mum made me wear hers to school one day when My shoes had broken & I have never got over it! The embarrassment!
You thought Olivia Newton John's song "Physical" was about aerobics....& still do!! :O
You learned everything you needed to know about "the facts of life" from Judy Blume books. Oh my... I read the book 'Forever' over & over again cos I thought it was sooooo naughty

This was soooooooo me! I was born in 1970...my first crush was on Donny Osmond, second was on Shaun Cassidy, I had a Strawberry Shortcake doll that smelled like strawberries...hmmm...my first bike I got for grading day in 1976 and it had a banana seat and a bell.
Judy Blume is still my favorite author and me and all my friends learned alot from her book "Are You There God, It's Me Margaret?"
I saw Grease in 1977 or 78 whenever it was out with my family and I was only 7 and had not wanted to go, but simply LOVED it and played my mother's record album over and over afterwards obsessively.
I loved ordering books from the Scholastic book club and how they smelled when new...lol.
I got a tape recorder for Christmas in 1979 and began holding it up to the radio to record the top 10 after that, as well as going around interviewing people, not to mention taping my family without telling them then playing back to their surprise...lol.

I was born in the late 50s....so by the time the 70s rolled around I was 13...a true 70s teen. I loved ALL the music and still do. I still remember before I was 13...liking all the 60s fashions and getting the "beehive" hairdo for school dances when I was 12. But the 70s was definitely the most memorable time for me.

When it was popular: '80s Description: Clear shoes that little girls wore. Came mostly in clear or pink, and, if you were lucky, sparkly. Usually worn with socks that had beads at the tops so when you folded them it would produce a jingle-bead effect. All the rage in pre-k, but everyone soon caught on.

angimac nope, i win! and i can suck the nails out of a board too!!!lmaoNot only do recall all of that, I made 2 sets of those ribbon barrettes in our school colors for homecoming spirit last year! Forgot I had them in this year after the game and went to the store, had 3 people stop me and ask about my barrettes...

LadyDi821 try looking on the bright side.. it's there if you look. :)When it was popular: '80s
Description: Clear shoes that little girls wore. Came mostly in clear or pink, and, if you were lucky, sparkly. Usually worn with socks that had beads at the tops so when you folded them it would produce a jingle-bead effect. All the rage in pre-k, but everyone soon caught on.
