yeah,,i miss sawhead more than anyone else, i was only just getting to know him too........was planning going visiting him and typo in the states.......i may still visit typo one day then she can tell me all about him......

I didn't really know sawhead, but he was judging a contest with me when he passed away. We were anonymous judges and he was only revealed when we lost him. It was so sad for all of us, but our hearts really went out to his wife and family. :(

i miss all of the older generation of singsnappers - the ones that knew how to share a good laugh. the ones that had your back in any situation, when you were right. i miss the singsnap site - the way it was. when you could start a thread that was a discussion and not being rude in any way - and it NOT be quarantined, just because someone who used to dislike you still doesn't like. almost all of my "generic" topic threads that i have tried to start in the last several months are quarantined. if you don't like me too bad. i pay to be here. i miss a lot of people, but they have prob left for the same reason that i am know leaving (the topic boards) and soon, i will be leaving my membership behind. this used to be a site that i and several enjoyed coming to. and life became fulfilling and busy for me, so i am more absent then i'd like to be. but since my return, here and there, the staff has increased, therefore so has my chances of not being able to participate the way i used to. i have had 2 bad experiences started on my own and by me in the last two years on here - my fault. I, in the last couple of months have spoken to those 2 members involved. And I have apologized and believe that I have "fixed" any of my wrong-doing. Of course none of this is made public, as it was and will be personal. yet i am still viewed my some with the upper hand now as a bad person. kudos to the site for making yourself big to where you hire past problem-starters as part or your staff. as long as your site is free, i will be a member here. i have the right to free speech so i can type here. i have NOT singled out a single person of staff or member here - so no need to moderate this. i've done nothing wrong. i've only just participated in a thread. shared my view. yet - you know that my point of view is not alone. several share my feelings. it's wrong. i used to love to discuss and share feelings and topics with everyone. i can't no longer. they quarantine me. yet - i do not harass, call names, threaten, type explicit words or photos. i have suggested several, SEVERAL good ideas for this site - and in turn HAVE SEEN one UTILIZED very successfully by this site's owner.

So, to answer your question, who do i miss?

I miss Singsnap.

This doesn't feel like Singsnap anymore.

I will be leaving SS at the end of my subscription also. Alot of my friends have left and it doesn't seem the same anymore for whatever reason. The feature page gets hardly any views, perhaps due to the inner circles, and no one visits much anymore or comments. The fun times seem few anymore. All things change though, and it was great while it lasted. Time to get away from the computer, and see what's going on elsewhere. :)

I miss Kappy. The guy sure was a blathering windbag, but I got some strange amusement out of reading his posts. Maybe I'm nuts, but the fact he doesn't post as much these days has caused me to read long books instead to replace the void.

As much as I do miss the "intimate" feel of the "old" SS and to be honest I kind of miss some of the smack downs we had on the boards , the new snap has some positive too. There are many folks here we wouldn't have had the chance to meet had they not gone public.

So while I am sad that some people have felt the need to leave due to the changes or for personal reasons or have passed away I think we still have a pretty great community here.

I remember this place when it was just fields....:)

I miss the "Top" section that used to be on here when I started(and there was only about a dozen members on here) Seeing a screenload of my songs on page 1 was quite a thrill until everybody else joined Singsnap, and then I dropped off the "chart" quicker than a very quick thing! never to return!

All together now: "Awww!"

I too remember the days I only got one comment on my songs. Now due in part to the sites enormity I get 2 or even 3 comments at times (depending on how many I leave myself).

Quite honestly though- If Singsnap being a larger site generating more revenue enables us to have this vast a selection to choose songs from (meaning revenue put into library and site expenses), I would truthfully choose the bigger song selection (larger membership base), reason being, that is why I joined- A GREAT LIBRARY. Also there are many more great singers to listen to, which means more tips regarding how to learn to sing for me... JMHO.

We've been getting a lot of songs at a fast clip, and that I can't get elsewhere !

Quite possibly if Singsnap remained very small, although in some ways more "quaint", would it be able to survive ? It's something to ponder :)

And, There are people I miss, but many are those I'd never have gotten to know if the site stayed small. Additionally people leave, but they return ! Happens with ALL sites !

Interactive music is why I joined. That is of utmost importance to me. For all I know, a few I miss might be here :) LOL. Just different SN's.

When a site grows, their is bound to be changes. To keep up with those changes more changes have to be made. Sure, I miss when it was invite only, it was small and homey. The listens and comments are not the same but as I said before, that is one of the downsides of having such a large site.

Other than that, I don't feel it has changed. Their will always be changes in every aspect of life, if you can't handle that, then I don't know what to tell you, other than, THAT IS LIFE :) all you can do is change with it or stick to the old days and well that may dissapoint you cus it aint the old days anymore.

As for the quarantine issue, it may not have been anything you did luv, it could have been someone else that did something wrong, ruined your thread and from there it snowballed. Simple as that. If it was something you did do(which you claim you didn't), then I would suggest to speak directly with Staff(the red ones, if you feel that the volunteer staff is not on your side). Find out from them if what has been quarantine was you or someone else.

I miss Per. He used to sing me the most fantastic arias. And then this stupid chick started harassing him to sing for everybody, and he just clammed up. Now nothing.....nada....zilch. Oh well! Life....

Cheeky, Quite honestly I see little change in the two years I have been here in terms of how personable the site is.. There always existed close bonds, and similarly those angry at some aspect of Singsnap. I don't know what it was like this time of year in 2006 however, I wasn't around. So naturally there have been changes since the site was "invite only" to present time. Yet you bring up excellent points.
