I have wonderful neighbors and they randomly leave me with sweet goodies and their delicious. I wanted to find a way to say thank you, but I'm unsure of what type of gift to give them...
I thought about a bottle of wine, but I'm not sure they have that type of acquired taste...
thought about a nice picture frame, but it didn't seem fitting for their thoughtfulness...

I also want to give my teacher an end of semester parting gift, she has been tutoring me and I want to say thank you...

Help, does anyone have ideas on what type of gifts to give them?

ooh, gift certificates, that could work they have a child about six years old. Do you think it would be thoughtful to get the certificate to a children's store?

Gift Cards are always nice. Many places have them...of course Wal-mart..but, other places too..many restaurants, Micheal's for those who like crafts, etc. etc.

Who me? Well yeah..like Olive Garden has gift cards. Professors like to eat right? :)...Olive Garden is just one off the top of my head but, I'm sure there's others.

Hmm...I don't know that would all depend on who I was buying for. I'd say $25.00. But, you know..it's the thought that counts!

Monique has a new ic song.. tan you wanted natural?

I leave goodies too and don't expect anything back. I'm sure they don't either. It's just fun to do. Can you bake? If so, maybe you could just return the favour? Some people just like giving; it makes them happy.

Wine is perhaps not a good idea. Not everyone drinks. I have a lady that brings me a bottle of wine every year and I've mentioned , a few times, that I don't drink.

Since they like giving food, how about something from Hickory Farms, or one of those places that have the fancy chocolates?

Just an alternate idea to the gift certificates. :)

I'm sooooo confusedddd lol now I can't decide between all the great ideas.
I think I'm over thinking this a bit. I don't think I could compete with my neighbors, their bakers, they work in a bakery. lol
They are the most wonderful neighbors I've ever had. Good people.

A holiday plant that won't die easily, and they can set out on their doorstep entryway or in their foyer. (or plant even) Grab one at your local grocers. They can add a holiday bow on it for you if you choose a non-Christmasy one. Pick any that comes in white or reds, like the beautiful Amaryllis. Hearty, and soooo re-plantable. Unique...and people give them as gifts in the bulb form all the time. Give a blooming one, and it keeps on going!

And it's seasonal decor. (They can chuck it later if they hate it)...But it's for that true holiday spirit and friendship vibe to thank with something living.

How about a personal "gift" certificate from you for something you can do for them? Do they have kids? offer to babysit.

Does the teacher have pets? offer to pet sit, or walk the dog. Or run errands for her.

I love all of these ideas that everyone has shared with you!

I'm thinking I'm going to get the fancy chocolates for my professor and...

For my neighbors, I definitely want to get a gift certificate for dinner, maybe with another small gift like the plant or the gift ideas Di gave me, something like that.

Thank you guys so much, as you can see I'm a bit clueless.

they have a 6 year old. She doesn't have pets and she usually is off listening to a lecture or something. She did say when she writes she'll have a glass of wine, but I don't know if she is likes white wine, red wine, dry wine or sweet.

Definitely, everyone has been sooo helpful
