This is my third week trying to use SingSnap. I love everything about it except it's the only online Karaoke site that I can't get to work on my computer. I'm not giving up just yet and thought maybe someone on here might have had or know about this problem. Here's what it does: Everything goes real smooth until I click on an artist's name or a song and then click on 'PLAY'. Slowly but surely in either Firefox or I.E. an error screen pops up, I.E. just crashes and closes. Firefox says I BETTER close it! But in Firefox I at least see the player come up, but no song ever plays, and it freezes. Here's what I have: Computer is fairly new, Pentium 4, 512 ram, Audigy 2 ZX Soundcard, have uninstalled, re-installed, tested and have newest Flash player with the update patch, IE updated to IE 7, Firefox newest 2.0 version, have tried with Anti-virus and Firewall disabled, all spyware and ad-blocking turned off, still no change, once I click on PLAY, browser crashes. Any ideas? Thanks
One additional note I failed to mention: In Firefox the error that pops up says 'Shockwave Flash has caused an illegal operation, please close Firefox and try again later' My Shockwave Flash works fine on other sites and is up to date.

Novella >> crushers - check out the thread for a holiday game!
I had a problem only recently... I would play songs and then the IE browser would crash... My virus protection popper up telling me something was deleted. Turns our the .. viewer? for AOL was forcing the browser to close, so I had to remove AOL from my computer entirely. I have no sweet clue if either of you have AOL but if you do have an AOL viewer (I cant remember the name) it *MAY* have something to do with that
Nope, If I had to use AOL, I'd just stay off the internet. AOL wont ever be on this computer. I have newest version of Firefox and newest version of IE. All flash players in both browsers are current and every forum and support room for Adobe Flash has been read, instructions followed, tested and worked....everywhere except SingSnap

Well, I am having the same problem. I get booted everytime i try to record or even to to practice a song. I have never seen the player, so evedently you are doing a little better than i am over here...lol Good luck and hope we can find someone to help us get this to work!!!!!!!!!!
Ok, I may be on to something here now. Which browser are you guys using? If you try I.E., next time it crashes and gives you that SEND ERROR REPORT screen, click on DETAILS and see what it says is causing the error. Post back here.
We have been told that if your Internet Explorer is crashing it might help to use Firefox instead (www.getfirefox.com).
DandyDon: since you're having problems in both browsers it is obviously related to something else on your computer. Question for you: does it crash before or after you get the allow/deny box that Flash shows to you (or should show anyway)?
Was in Firefox, I.E., Opera and Netscape and was after the allow/deny (actually I made the Flash remember the 'allow' so it didn't come up each time). The way I fixed it was to watch the error screen pop-up when I.E. Crashed. Once that error screen popped up asking if I wanted to send error report, I clicked on 'details'. It showed exactly what the error was. It was something called 'vcam.ax' which was an old webcam program that I had downloaded once and never even used. I then did a search on computer, right clicked and found the folder containing it, then deleted it. No problems since.
And thank you Jason for trying to help me in emails. Sorry I took up so much of your time, but I think it puzzled both of us. Glad to be here finally, hope this may help someone else having same problem.
I was having the same problems and I cleared my cookies and all was peachy. However for a while I would have to clear my cookies after every recording. Yet now for some reason it works flawless. I am clueless as well. Another thing I noticed if you use a webcam make sure the webcam drivers are up to date this seems to affect many people as well.
same problems with firefox and IE, it seems to be a dll file error. npswf.dll or something like that, the upgraded dll file is the culprit. now all I need to find out is how to uninstall the new and go back to the old. all the bug fixes that say they will correct this, doesnt and it seems to me also to only be singsnap, since adobe works on other sites. wonders if renaming the dll and reinstalling an older version of the dll will correct it? any ideas appreciated, Donna
Hate to say it but I have been on sing snap for some time know.and i just started having these problems. hi! i used to record a lot of songs here but now i just got a new laptop and, everytime i try to run the Wizard, when it turns on the camera, my browser just restarts... i used Firefox and Internet Explorer 8... please, help!
I am getting the same issues as Lucia above. In my case it tries to access my TV card as a camera and crashes flash. This has happened in Firefox, IE and Chrome in windows 7 and XP. It is a PCTV 800i TV card but of course I don't want to use it as a camera but I can't even get to choose not to. If there was only a way to not have the wizard look for a camera in the first place. I used to just turn off my Card but I am now using it In windows 7 and will no longer use Singsnap I guess.

Wow, bump for a thread from the past! The original post was from 2006!! :)
If you're having a problem with npswf.dll, do this:
http://kb.adobe.com/selfservice/viewContent.do?externalId=tn_14157
Then reinstall Flash from here:
http://kb.adobe.com/go/gntray_dl_getflashplayer
That should do it!
