Been up since 5 am... and been going full speed.... it is 2:30 am and I challenge myself to a raspy, too tired 8 minutes and 52 second stretch.... at this hour it sounds pretty good... lol that might change after the 2 and half hour sleep I will allow myself :) On a different note: Weatherwise it has been a rainy week... and though it is October, the November chill crept in early.... while this song has nothing to do with physical storms, I always think about it when it gets this chilly. At times i love the chill... It gives me cuddle closer

Five kids, and twenty years later.... a memory, a moment can still remind of why I fell..... and did I ever fall hard.... Yes we argue..... yes we go through stuff..... yes sometimes I can't stand to be near him.... but just one look, and I am reminded that forever and always and no matter what, I will be here. Jay Landers, I thank God for you, in the middle of every storm and at the end of every rainbow. A constant reminder of how "real" we are.

It's almost time.... we are counting the days to bonfires and hot apple cider.... and the smell of crisp leaves crackling under my barefeet (because I stay that way until there snow on the ground).... Not sure if I did this song justice. I don't know it that well but the beauty of the classics is singing them like you remember them and not always like they were originally meant to be sung. ;) This is one of those "my way" sings. Because I can. Happy Autumn!

So the last time Donovan sang with me was 2008..... want a recap? look up "There's a Hole in the Bucket" from that year..... now he is a teenager and we butt heads ALL THE TIME. This is a happy account of the joys of parenting teenagers on a Friday night, when it's too rainy but you know you are supposed to be at a homecoming football game and cabin fever has set in something fierce..... (((GOOOOOOOOD TIIIIIIIIIMES!) Here's to mother and son at age 17. Love my "Froggy Eyes".

So hear it goes.... I hear time and time again from veterans about how upsetting it is that children don't even know how to sing our national anthem... Well this I promise, if they learn from nobody else my children WILL know The Star Spangled Banner. And though as children they may not understand what it means, as they grow into adults they will see my heart and what it means to me. And to the veterans who have a right to speak freely about their thoughts on the matter.... Thank you!!!! Thank you for your words, thank you for your thoughts, but most important, thank you for your service! P.S. This is far from awesomeness! I've heard some killer versions..... but I wanted to sing it!
