This song helps to express what a smile did for me... After my son had passed away... I was in a darkness. My great grand daughter Shira, only 2years old was all smiles and laughter . It was her laughter that helped me to overcome and still does. to this day... This poem expresses the healing she gave me in her simple joy for life. Shira (in English Song) The purity of the child's laugh though brief Was so bright it healed the heart's grief Her joyous smile and twinkling eyes Was all it took to sweep away the heart's cries The small hand grasping a finger Pushed away the grief that had to long lingered Where tears had watered ashes in the earth A delicate flower pushes forth in purity and mirth.
