Not every loved Irish song came from the Emerald Isle, but, rather, from the transplanted sons and daughters who took up in the frontiers of North America. The longing for the "auld sod" is quite evident in this classic....I yet recall my Grandfather Herbert singing this gem in his truely beautiful tenor....and the Irish "touch" of emotion I feel still resonates with me from way back when! Hope you like my version of this....and Thanks for listening, my Friends!
