Everyone has treated someone badly in their life. Whether it is the one you love, a family member, or a friend. And whether they died, or have left you, you feel regret and feel like life has no purpose without them. You want them to come back, but you don't know if you'll ever see them again. You treated them wrong. You pushed them away. All you can do is hope and pray that things will be alright, and try not to drive yourself insane over it. Although, sometimes, that feels like an impossible mission that can't be done.

There was a time in my life when I was deeply in love with a man who I can only describe as sadistic. He did all he could to make my life miserable, yet I took everything he did in stride and tried to bear it all. He knew well how to take my words and twist them, so that my most rational statements seemed completely unreasonable. He brought me to a point where I was afraid to say anything, convinced that just getting through the day somehow made his life harder, that I was hurting him with every breath I took. I could not see this emotional abuse through the thick cloud of love I had for him. I chose this song as my 'I changed' song for several reasons. The first reason is the adamant "I'm not insane"...***EDITED FOR PERSONAL REASONS***. Secondly, the pleas of "come back to me" and "come back again"...even when I understood how toxic he was to me, I still longed to be with him. Third, this song just totally rocks hardcore! If you're wondering how this fits under the theme of 'I changed', let me tell you. After a very long time struggling with the feelings I had, I finally rid my life of this person who was so soul-draining. My self-esteem returned and I no longer allowed myself to be emotionally abused. I learned and grew from my horrible experience, and I can honestly say that although I occasionally feel it, I'm truly 'not insane'.
