OK so first, here is the original vocal track...yes there is only one because Janis needs absolutely NOOOOOOO harmony! She was such a strong vocal artist (the state of my throat now can prove that...lol)! http://www.singsnap.com/karaoke/r/c8b521338 As for this song which was chosen for me by my judge, Rachel. When she first posted this song for me, well needless to say, I thought, what the hell are you thinkin? There is no way THIS is an artist I resemble AT ALL!!! Once I started to learn the song, which I have heard before just never got into it, I kinda felt myself become the part. I let the lyrics flow from my tired throat and felt the story of this song become my very own! I have had but few REAL loves in my life but a part of each of them put together makes ONE Bobby McGee! As for Janis herself, well aside of the sever drug and alcohol use which initially took her short life, I guess you could, in few words, say that Rachel knew what the hell she was thinkin when she chose this for me. Funny how a song and/or artist that you have absolutely NOOOO interest in, can so closely resemble and define you as a person or artist! All I can say is THANK YOU Rachel for showing me a part of myself that I absolutely knew nothing about!

I recorded it once and then found out I did not have my computer microphone turned on, so got nothing. Then I did it again and had a long comment typed, and tried to send it, and found my computer connection to my router was loose so I lost that comment. Anyway sorry for not keeping up very well, as I am more familiar with Roger Miller's version, but you do great on Janis'. Thanks again for the opportunity.
