"Seemann (Deine Heimat ist das Meer)"(English translation "Sailor (Your Home is the Sea)") is a song originally written in German and first recorded by Austrian pop singer Lolita (real name Edith "Ditta" Einzinger). Her recording peaked at #2 on Germany's Top 20 in Jun 3 1960 and was the fourth biggest hit in the country for that year.

To increase the appeal of the song for the US market, a section spoken in English was overdubbed and the title changed to "Sailor (Your Home is On the Sea)". The song rose to #5 on the Billboard chart in December 1960 becoming the first German-language song to rise to the US Top Ten. It also became a hit in Australia, New Zealand, Japan and the Netherlands.

The song was later covered by Petula Clark and Anne Shelton, both of whom had hits with it in the UK Singles Chart, as well as the Andrews Sisters.
