First time hearing this .. and I like what I hear .. wow you did one amazing job on this .. Loved my stay here listening .. hugs and smiles amie
What a nice way to start my day!Three songs from you!Listening!
What a cheerful sounding little ditty.I little macabre though. You sound wonderful, of course. You always do.Thank you!
Thank you so much for stopping by, Dave. It is cheerful, isn't it?
Macabre? Well, yes, I guess there is that underlying image of falling and bleeding, red as strawberries...
But then Michael's red scarf might just splay out across the snow after he fell, and I imagine he'd be laughing, inviting a frolic in the snow.
Okay, remember, I'm a romantic about snow, living in the land of perpetual sunshine. What's today's forecasted temp according to my phone? 66 degrees Fahrenheit. And that's a little cooler because of cloud cover...
Your interpretation is valid tho.. I ought to send a "Message to Michael" about the ambivalence of the lyrics.
OK,,,I guess I'm getting old. No, I know I got old. I just can't seem to relate to lyrics in a lotta songs anymore, even when I'm staring them in the face on some video screen. When I listen to a song I can barely make out what they say often too, despite being hard of hearing due to occupational hazards, the lyrics don't seem to conjugate into my inner ear well and come out making sense. At first, I thought this was starting out with some new Hari-Krishna mantra,,,but then, as it progressed about little heads falling off, I retreated back into my inner self and decided, I've gone over the edge and have become a ghost of Christmas past. Snow, romantic? I wish you were here last weekend when we got the 3rd highest recorded snowfall in our history,,,,you'da been head over heels in love with a snowplow driver. OK,,,I'm glad I was introduced to this tune, despite the fact that I don't relate, don't understand, and am outta touch with the modern world. But snow, I do know snow, and I know, yes, it's romantic to look at when the situation is right, but very un-romantic to deal with when the roads and driveways are inundated.... didn't see any little heads rolling around out there while blasting it into the air with my Toro..... Bravo,,,,liked it because it's different..... like you.
Silly Batman. You could have clicked on Buddy Holly you know... Love ya and thanks for listening.
Never heard this one before must say it's quite nice . I enjoyed . xx
Having fun reading Batman above. One other person who sees a darker side to snow. I can't complain especially, but I was speaking with someone today who spent time in Buffalo who convinced me that there are only so many angels you can make and men you can build before you want to have done with it and see a little green poking out of the ground.
We'll make it a while longer, though it's not so much consolation to know that your fruit trees are getting set to show off out yonder, Madam.
Feel free to share a snap of all that pink and white beauty exploding around you. We will enjoy vicariously.
Meanwhile, the lyrics are quirky as they can be in this age. I think perhaps the American Songbook genre of music led many folks to ignore that poetry had wandered into a place like this a long time ago. Or so it seems to me.
I join the crowd in applauding this, and you, Madam.
I think you have that "snap" covered yourself in your profile pic, haven't you, Nan?
And I shan't allow all you snow-haters to hijack my happy snow fantasy song with your griping. Go find your own East Coast thread to talk about snow plows and salt and such. You may be happy to know the rain is starting at midnight here. We are too.
And hey! See how the snow in my background sparkles like a Jewel? It really sets off my hair.
Music shouldn't be just a tune. . . it should be a touch. ~ Amit Kalantri <3
Turning over that Numbah Five for you, Dear Jewelya. You are only the second person I've evah heard sing this sweet, lil' ditty in our fair SnapLand. The first time I heard it was by my buddy Baz at his studio.
It is muy blanco here and more white schtuff comin' for the next 3 to 4 days. I'll be pointing my camera out the window at some point. I'm glad I can bring a bit of 'nostalgia' to you and fun to all the folks who don't get to see it in their realms.
Hearing you sing this chilled, happy reverie... makes my frosty heart smile. For this frozen, snowbound Songbird, that is sayin' a whole lot, my sweet LadyJ. 'd
And yes... it really does set off your hair.
One other thing, I forgot to write... with those backing vocals that have a BeachBoys quality to them, it's like a Snow Surfin' Song.
Kinda embarrassed to have a pro like you hear this. Much harder than I'd thought it was gonna be to sing.
I agree about the Beach Boys sound, now that you bring it up. And isn't that just perfect?
I also must admit I thought about you when I mentioned East Coast threads, your webcam snow reports, and YOU out "trolling" Snap for "summer songs."
Thanks for staying perky in print.
I sincerely hope all your falls during current conditions are soft and romantic not hard and keester-bruising.
A new song to me...wonderful sing....I really enjoyed ur recording here...
How cute is this J !!!
What a delight!!
I hope I didn't scare you
Silly man. Certainly not. I'm so glad you put up a picture. You look fit and fine and not totally "old' as you seem to want to remind me all the time that you are.
However, I do think you ought to dial down the cyber-flirting a bit. It seems to have knocked you sideways.
Truthfully, I'm glad you uploaded a portrait. Mostly cuz I don't want to confuse special one-of-a-kind YOU with other generic profile pickers. These old eyes have trouble seeing usernames sometimes.
Now you're standing tall, Ed. Glad to see you're an upright man after all.
