Love Me With All Of Your Heart
The Bachelors recorded it in 1966 when it went to number 38 on the US charts.
"Love Me with All Your Heart" is based on the Spanish language song "Cuando calienta el sol". The music was written by Rafael Gaston Perez, a Nicaraguan songwriter and bandleader.
Carlos Martinoli, Carlos Rodriguez and Mario Rodriguez wrote this but there is some confusion about it. So who wrote it?
Sunny Skylar wrote the English words, (October 11, 1913 – February 2, 2009) was an American composer, singer, lyricist, and music publisher. He was born Selig Shaftel in Brooklyn, New York. As a singer, he appeared with a number of big bands, including those led by Ben Bernie, Paul Whiteman, Abe Lyman, George Hall and Vincent Lopez. It was Lopez who changed the singer's professional name from Sonny Schuyler to Sunny Skylar. After the end of the big band era, Skylar continued to sing in nightclubs and theaters until 1952.
The song was published in 1961. Although both the Spanish and the English versions are love songs, the lyrics are not translations of each other. The Spanish title translates as "When the sun heats (or warms) up".
A version recorded by The Ray Charles Singers went to number three on the Billboard Hot 100 and spent four weeks at number one on the Pop-Standard singles chart in June 1964.
Engelbert Humperdinck recorded it in 1970.
