Email

I am not receiving email notifications
If you are not receiving email notifications, first check your email's Spam folder to see if your email provider is directing our emails to you there. (This is a common occurrence with Yahoo email). If they are being directed to your Spam folder, make sure to mark them as "Not Spam" or move them back to your Inbox so your email provider knows you want to receive these emails.

You may also try adding our email addresses to your Contacts list so that your email provider knows we are an approved contact.

Please stop sending me emails
To turn off email notifications, please click on ACCOUNT in the navigation bar at the top of the site, and then on EDIT SETTINGS. Click the Notifications tab and change your email options, and click the Update button.

How do I change my email address on file?
To change your email address click on ACCOUNT, in the navigation bar at the top of the site, and then on UPDATE EMAIL. Delete the address on file, enter your new address and click the UPDATE button. You will be prompted to validate your new email address.

Email addresses can only be used once, so if your email is attached to another account then you will need to either choose a different email or change the email on your old account first before trying to change it on your current one.

If you do not remember your old account information you can use the "Forgot Login Details?" tool to have it emailed to you.

How do I verify my email address?
Every account must have a verified email address in order to utilize all the features available for your membership level. An email address may only be used once.

To verify your email address, click on ACCOUNT in the navigation bar at the top of the site, click on Update Email, click the link next to your email address, and then click the button to send yourself a verification email. Look for a message from SingSnap in your email and click the link inside it to verify your email address. That's it!

If, for some reason, you do not receive our email message, please check your spam or junk folder. See "I am not receiving email notifications on comments or PMs" above for more information about emails.

Personal Information

I do / do not want people to see my real name or age
To hide personal information from public view, click on your username in the navigation bar at the top of the site, click on EDIT PROFILE PAGE, scroll down to the form with your profile information. Next to each item that you want to hide, uncheck the box that says "Show Publicly". Click the UPDATE button when done.

I do / do not want people to know that I am online
To turn on or off the ONLINE indicator that appears on your profile picture, click on your username in the navigation bar at the top of the site and then click on Set Online Status. Change the When Online setting accordingly and click the UPDATE button.

I see others with "Birthday Today" beside their names, why does mine not show?
If you have your age information public, your birthday will be indicated on site by a "Birthday Tomorrow" or "Birthday Today" next your name in your Fans' lists. However, for gold members, make sure you do not have anything in your status box, as this will override the birthday announcement.

Can I change my username?
It is our policy to allow a one-time username change. Our usernames can be 20 characters long with no spaces and be comprised of letters, numbers, hyphens, and underscores.

Sometimes we get requests to change usernames because a member wants to hide from another member that is stalking them or being abusive towards them. Please note that changing the username is not a solution to this problem. For example, they can go to a previous message or comment you've sent to them to view your new username.

Just a note about changing usernames. Once we change your username you will have to login using the new name and your existing password. You will also receive an email confirming the name change.

Profile Picture

I just uploaded a new profile picture, why do I still see the old one?
To load pages faster, your internet browser will store cached versions of pages you have already visited causing you to see your old picture. Try clicking the Refresh button on your browser, and this should clear the cache for that page. Do this on any page you still see your old picture on.

How do I delete my profile picture?
You can remove your profile picture by clicking on your username in the navigation bar at the top of the site, click on CHANGE PICTURE, and then click the REMOVE CURRENT PICTURE button.

Account or Subscription

Can you close my account?
We don't have an automatic process for deleting accounts. Simply follow these steps if you want to leave SingSnap.

  • Delete all your recordings.
  • Remove all personal information from your profile. (Replace name with initials.)
  • Turn off all email notifications. (Settings).
  • Cancel any Gold Subscriptions.

When this is done, simply log out of SingSnap. We hope that you reconsider and come back of course!

How do I cancel my recurring subscription?
You can cancel your Free Trial or Gold Subscription through your profile on PayPal's website. Visit our Cancel a Gold Subscription tutorial for detailed instructions.

How many accounts can I have?
It is a violation of our Terms of Use to hold more than one account per person. There are a few instances where we will make exceptions to these rules, but at no time is another account to be used to deceive others into believing you are someone else.

I can't login to the site
You could be getting knocked off because the web browser you're using is set to not allow Internet cookies. In this case, you should reduce the security level to normal in your browser.

The Internet cookie from SingSnap could have become corrupt. In this case you should delete the Internet cookies and log back into the site. You can find out how to delete Internet cookies on this page.

Another reason you can't login could be that the date/time is not set correctly on your computer. Set this correctly and try logging in again.

You can also try a different browser. It is possible that browser settings may be the culprit, and if it works on one browser, but not another, there is likely a setting that was accidentally set to not accept cookies.

Can I share my account with another person?
You may share accounts with other household members. Keep in mind that anything one person does reflects on the other, so if one person creates a situation causing the account to be suspended, both members will be affected.
