Hosting A Contest Or Challenge

SingSnap has some really fun contests and challenges that you can join in on. We do host our own, but there are always a bunch being hosted by Snappers just like you. Read further for tips and help on hosting one of your own!

The main question people ask is: "What is the difference between a contest and a challenge?"

Challenges differ from contests in that they do not have an end "winner". Everyone participates and everyone completes the challenge. Challenges will generally have a specific theme and instructions such as "Sing a song beginning with the letter 'A'" or "Sing while balancing a spoon on your nose". Some challenges are silly and some are serious, but for the most part, they are just to have fun, do something a little outside your comfort zone and to enjoy interacting with other SingSnap members.

To start your own contest, first read the Contest Guidelines - Hosts topic. When you are ready to go, simply start a new topic in the Contests - Auditions category.

A member is causing undue drama on my contest topic, how should I handle this?
If you come across a reply or post on the message board that you find is either offensive and/or breaks the SingSnap Terms of Use or Code of Conduct please click the REPORT button that appears beneath the reply or post on the message board. This will flag the reply or post for staff to look at in order to evaluate the action we will take.

If you are a contest or challenge participant or host experiencing a disruptive member, and you cannot resolve the issue via private messaging with that member, please contact us and provide a link to the topic and the details of the situation. We will be happy to assist.

How do I make those cool award banners for my winners?
Creating and posting a banner is a task that is a little more complicated than what can be covered in this section. If you would like some help on where to go and what to do to create a graphic banner for comments or topics, please contact us and we will try to assist.

My round/contest is over, what should I do now?
When a contest round is completed, be sure to start a new topic for the next round. Copy the link to the new topic and paste it in the old topic so your contestants know where to go. The Community Admin Team will move your completed topic to Contests - Completed category after 24 hours.

For Challenges, please make a post on your topic that the challenge is closed. This will make it clear to our Community Admin team that it is alright to move the topic to the completed category.

If your topic has been moved, and you are NOT finished, please send a private message to SingSnapSupport and ask that it be moved back to In Progress.
