"When Angels Weep" Fraser High School Symphony band under the direction of Mr. Vechinski Florida competition - 1998 *part 1* - http://www.singsnap.com/karaoke/r/c697b81d2 *part 2* - http://www.singsnap.com/karaoke/r/bb6a09b72 (christine on cymbals : ) In the words of Mr. Vechinski - Feb. 2013 Last night at our Festival Concert I had a wonderful flashback when Symphony Band played "When Angels Weep" by David Shaffer. It was suddenly March 13, 1998 and I was onstage at Dakota HS with Symphony Band from Fraser HS. Our program consisted of the March from First Suite in Eb, Havendance and When Angels Weep. That performance with that band on that stage was one of those AHA moments that each of us strive to have in our lifetime, especially the performance of When Angel Weep. People that saw standing in the back of the auditorium last night conducting as the current band playing onstage probably thought I was nuts, having a seizure or just thinking "that is Mr. V." To those 61 Symphony Band students that performed at Dakota in 1998....you are never forgotten.....the spark of all of you came back last night. Of course I wanted to contact all of you for a little "one on one" with the current Symphony Band on When Angels Weep. My faith is in all of you....I think we can take the young kids.

Today while sitting in church, I thought about my grandpa Gavagan, about all the family get togethers, all the music and food and candy, lots of candy - pinky candies, circus peanuts and grandma's homemade fudge. The family would gather around to sit and visit, to listen to all the songs he'd play, my dad and his sister along side him playing along on their guitars, grandpa with fiddle or mandolin in hand ... those memories will live on inside my heart always. *guitar, mandolin and fiddle*
