Well I ain't an Elvis but I joined you anyhow lol, Tina you sure did a beautiful job on your part, hope I didn't mess it up to bad, my voice gets a little shaky when I sing this song, and with these darn allergies my voice doesn't wanna cooperate with me lol ya excuses, excuses lol......I love this song, it's one of my special fav's....and has lots of meaning......thank you Tina for the open duet.....Elvis left the building so I filled in for him lol. I lost my Dad when I was almost 11yrs old (3 months shy of 11).....my cousin had this song on a little 45, my Dad passed away Sept. 21, 1975 he was 33yrs old, I spent the summer (July,August of 75) with my Dad's family, I played this song almost every night that summer, over and over till I fell a sleep, my cousin said I was gonna wear it out, I think of my Dad every time I hear this song. He sang and played guitar and I'm not bragging but he was pretty awesome :-), he also reminded me of Elvis...he was tall with dark hair and handsome as heck, when I think about it now I'm not sure they looked a whole lot alike, it was more likely the song and the feeling of sadness of seeing my Dad go through so much pain and suffering and seeing him cry when he was trying to so strong for us. My Mom took my Brother and I to go buy a little gift to put with my Dad in his casket so he could always have something from us with him, I bought a necklace with a shiny colorful crystal with a cross etched in it and my Brother bought a little glass picture with a prayer on it. I remember his service so clearly, it was the first funeral I ever went to, it was open casket, I remember being so so sad and when I went up to the front to say good-bye I remember thinking he doesn't look in pain anymore, then I kissed him good-bye, the hardest part of all of it was watching them lower him into the ground and throw dirt on him that's when me and my brother both really broke down, my Brother is a year older then me, I was really worried about him because he had an extremely hard time with all of it, but bad things happened to him that made it more difficult for him............I miss him and carry him in my heart.....when I had my baby I wished my Dad was there, the first thing I said when I looked at my son was "he looks like my Dad", I wish he could have walked me down the aisle when I got married, wish he could have seen me graduate, wish could know my Son, but I know he's watching over us from Heaven and someday we'll all be together again........God Bless.....And thanks to those that read this cause it's long.....share kindness and love, let your words to each other be kind and loving not hurtful, hurtful words harm and scar and scars heal slowly, we never know when it will be our time, make the path you leave behind a loving and caring one.

I love this song............In some ways I can relate to this............I've dealt with ghosts and I've faced all my demons...burdened with pain and trapped for too long....I'm moving on, life has been patiently waiting for me and I know there's no guarantees but I'm not alone.....the words have so much meaning.......very heartfelt lyrics.....and I will get there.... :-)

It's been awhile since I could...........hold my head up high.........look at myself............ Had a few hiccups lol yep flubbed it up lol.......it's hit or miss with my voice for singing between allergies and smoking, so disappointed in myself for starting again after having quit for 15 yrs......grrrrrrrrr.......but I will quit again...I can do it, I can do it, I will do it :-)........yes I will.
