It's been so long since I've sung with my friend Keith that I had to try to add some harmony to his beautifully emotional performance of this song. Keith you almost brought me to tears on this one. As always, I'm not sure if all the notes are right, but I hope you like it. You did such a wonderful job that it really didn't need anything. I just miss singing with you. hehe

Well, I'm sure this isn't just how Terri sings it, but how often do I sing a song exactly like the artist. I was once told by a talented instrumentalist on here that I should never worry if I sing a song just like the artist. He said to always sing it Julie's way and it will always be right. I don't know about always, but now I don't worry so much about it and I sure have fun singing a song my way.

Goodness. It must be because this is so low for me, but I felt like I needed and oxygen tank. lol That was my son that walked by. He stood in the hall to see if I wanted him to wait 'til I was done recording, but I motioned him through. Y'all don't mind seeing his Penguins Jersey, do ya? He had to come out and get a snack for the game.

THERE'S A SPECIAL KIND OF MAGIC IN THE AIR This is not for the feature page. I just wanted to sing with my dear friend Barry who can no longer sing in SingSnap for reasons that aren't important. Your part of the recording was back in 2009, Barry. I know the sound quality in SS is much better now. I tried to mix it as best I could. You sound wonderful! Maybe I should have taken the time to learn how the artist sings my part, but instead I did a whole lot of ad lib singing. It is what it is. hehe I really love singing with you, Dixie boy, and I hope that it won't be too long before we hear your voice again. You've already been gone too long.

Released in 1967 as the B side of a 45 with Strawberry Fields being the A side. They were released just so the company would be satisfied since they had no Beatles releases in a few months. Both songs were later included on the Magical Mystery Tour LP. The picture below is the sleeve for the 45. In 2004, Rolling Stone ranked "Penny Lane" at #456 on its list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. In this track doesn't have all the vocals included at the end, but I did my best.

John said, of this song, that it was "another of my throwaways ... fancy paper around an empty box". What a shame the song sucks so badly, huh? NOT! lol The song was released on the "Revolver" LP in the UK and "Yesterday and Today" in the US and Canada. The album is remembered primarily for the controversy surrounding its original cover image, the "butcher cover" featuring the band dressed in white smocks and covered with decapitated baby dolls and pieces of meat. I will not show that album cover. I hate it. lol This is the cover that ended up being the keeper. Wow! I learned two Beatles songs today I'd never heard before. Beat you on this one, too, Johnny, although, I'll bet you will sound better. I'm a bit shaky in places.
