Copyright Pat Campo-LeBlanc 12/6/10 Based on a poem I wrote about the true meaning of Christmas, changed a few words but it's basically the same. The Amazing Gift By Pat Campo-LeBlanc 12/6/10 Intro: Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh,ooh Verse1: It was not wrapped in pretty paper It was not bought at the nearest mall It was not under a balsam tree But it was an amazing gift for us all It was not on our shopping list It was too big to fit our stocking It could not be seen or touched But it filled our heart’s longing, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh Verse2: It did not come with any pomp It came not perchance This extravagant gift came By meek and humble circumstance It was not what we deserved It was not something we earned It was a gift with no strings attached Of this we soon learned, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh Chorus 1: It was a darling, baby boy Sent to save us from our sins He was the Alpha and Omega The Beginning and the End Verse 3: He was born of the Virgin Mary A holier mother never has been She followed the will of the Father And so has become our Queen This child soon grew into one holy man Gathered disciples and traveled Performed miracles to win souls But soon His young life began to unravel. Chorus 2: He had been a darling, baby boy Sent to save us from our sins He was the Alpha and Omega The Beginning and the End Guitar Solo: He was taken and held prisoner Scourged, spat on and mocked Yet He knew his Father’s will So His faith would not be rocked This beautiful, little baby boy Who was the Prince of Peace Was crucified to save us Our sins to be released, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh Chorus 3: He had been a darling, baby boy Sent to save us from our sins He was the Alpha and Omega The Beginning and the End Verse 4: As you wrap and decorate your gifts To put beneath your tree Reflect on the most precious one of all The Savior’s life given for you and me He paid for ours sins, it was a very high price He did it out of love, the ultimate sacrifice, ooh, ooh, ooh Outro: (2 X ) Thank you God for sending your son to save us. This is why we celebrate Christmas.
