Hi my name is John Alvin Thompson. yes my middle name is Alvin. I think my mom and dad gave me that middle name kind of like the Johnny Cash song (my name is sue). wanted me to be prepared to protect my self from the bad guys cause i wasnt going to be very tall. I guess 5-7 is not as short as so many others. I have 3 sons, 8 grandkids,and 1 dog. oh i forgot about my wife,we have been married for 35 years.dont know why that long but she hung on to me and i still wonder why.

Yes i was such a sinner. I know how much i hurt my precious father God and his son Jesus Christ. In july 2001 i came down with a brain tumor. I was given 5-7 years to live cause no one has lived that long with my type of cancer. My doctors were wrong,they are happy but were wrong. God has me here for a reason and sometimes i still wonder why. besides my brain tumor, i have chrons disease, skin cancer,and had a major stroke. Do i ask God why? not any more. I just live for him and thank him each and everyday for giving me this much time to be with my family. Not sure if my wife will ever forgive me for the things i did in my life but i know God has.

So i hope i have not ran away any of my friends here on ss. when i give a testimony at churches i dont leave anything out,cause God knows everything about me and that is all that matters. oh dont forget God loves you toooooooooo. john

10/12/2012 Just a little update on my brain tumor. I have been having seizures almost everyday now. My balance is getting worse each day. not sure if it is because of the stroke i had 10 years ago or if my tumor has started growing. my next appointment at m.d. anderson is not till january. hope i dont have to have my mri until then.I thank all my friends that keeps me in their prayers.

1/11/2013. Well my friends just some more update on my brain tumor. found out today that my Tumor has started growing bigger. will get more information soon about maybe having another operation or having more radiation or starting on chemo.I thank each and everyone of you for your kindness and your prayers. love john

3/3/2013. i visited my doctor friday morning and he said there is going to be another surgery. I will go back to houston this coming friday 3-8-2013 and meet the doctor that will perform the operation. my doctor said the visit friday will give me more information on what problems i might have after they remove the temporal lobe on the left side of my brain. just want to say once again i thank God for allowing me to meet so many wonderful friends on singsnap. 4/21/2013- hi my friends. i have had my 2nd surgery at m.d. anderson. my brain tumor was removed once again. told me i will start chemo when i go back in june or if it starts growing back quickly. i never was much of a singer here on ss but now i have gotten worse lol. i really have missed all my special friends here on ss.God be with each and every one of you....luv john
