This is one of those songs which people can understand in many ways but what is clear is that it is a song about love be it sung by a woman or man and one that I enjoyed performing. Tony From the 1973 musical 'A Little Light Music', Judi Dench, who performed the role of Desirée in London, commented that the context of the song and play was about people who at the beginning are with wrong partners and in the end hopefully things are going to become right and the charector Desiree mistimes her life and realizes when she re-meets the man she had an affair with and had a child by (though he did not know this), that she loves him and he is the man she wants. The use of "clowns" in the title do not refer to circus clowns but they symbolize fools and the writer said that "Send in the Clowns" didn't settle in until he got the notion, "Don't bother, they're here", meaning that "We are the fools."

The girl sits alone in complete despair of her life. There is nothing left for her to want to go on. Around her the forest is bare with only the birds waiting for what will follow. Suddenly the wind picks up and she hears a voice singing to her. It tells her not to be sad or give up and that somebody is watching over her until the bad times pass. Then her heart will lighten and her life spirit will return for her to enjoy life once again. How powerful and relevant are these lyrics in our modern world? I strongly believe that there is always somebody ready to help others in distress. I feell that by questioning something we feel is not right with somebody it could avert many tragedies. Tony Peter Buck said that the reason the lyrics are so typically straightforward is because it was aimed at teenagers and if you're consciously writing for someone who hasn't been to college, or is pretty young, it might be good to be very direct and in that regard, it tended to work for people of a lot of ages. In 1995, the British emotional support listening service The Samaritans, in response to the high suicide rate but low crisis service take-up amongst young men, launched a UK press advertising campaign consisting solely of the lyrics to "Everybody Hurts" and the charity's hotline number.

I Drove All Night" is a song written by Billy Steinberg and Tom Kelly for Roy Orbison. who first recorded the song in 1987, but his rendition was not released until 1992, after the song had become a top 10 hit on both sides of the Atlantic for Cyndi Lauper in 1989. Lauper said she wanted to do it because she liked the idea "of a woman driving, of a woman in control.

If you have never seen this lady performing, have a look on YouTube. She is unique with the songs she sings and worth a listen if you have not come across her before. This is a very interesting song which can be seen in many different ways by people but what runs through the whole piece for me is the strong spiritual and peacful message it sends out. Brilliant. Tony Enya (born Eithne Patricia Ni Bhraonáin 1961 ), is Ireland 's most successful female artist and works under the name of the composer and artist Enya with producer Nicky Ryan and lyricist Roma Ryan . She is one of the world's best-selling female artists. ‘Anywhere Is’ is a hit single by Enya. It is the second song in the album The Memory of Trees and it peaked at #7 on the UK Singles Chart in November 1995. The lyrics of the song are in English.
