Hi all. I'm a lifelong pianist - fortunate enough to be trained as a child in part at Juilliard school of music (part time). Then I studied with classical teachers. Bless my mom for making me take piano lessons I went on to teach myself pop, studied the chord charts, learned the songs by ear (although of course I also read music), and in the process slowly built up a large repertoire of probably thousands of tunes. I eventually got gigs, first with bands, then alone like the "Piano Man." I preferred solo gigs after that. Singing sort of just happened as part of the gigs. I never took any voice training, although I'd seriously like to at this point. One can never say that they don't need improvement in just about anything in life. I'm also learning the banjo (I adore bluegrass!!) on my own pretty much from a Scruggs songbook and YouTube videos Anyway, since joining this wonderful SingSnap place, I've been on a natural high. This place is so awesome that I've come to think the greatest challenge here is to somehow figure out how to balance my time spent here with all the other things in my life that need to be taken care of, like the rest of us. So far I'm barely managing to do so, lol. Anyway, that's a little bit about me for now

P.S. About the vegan part of my name. I went plant-based about 2 1/2 years ago for better health, to do my part to save the animals, and to help the environment. If any of this interests you, I highly recommend at least two web sites, but I do follow the advice of the renowned plant-based Dr. John McDougall (author of "The Starch Solution" and many other best sellers on sound nutritional advice) ...... http://www.drmcdougall.com/
For the ethical side of things, I highly recommend this brilliant female activist for the animals, Emily Barwick ...... http://bitesizevegan.com
