Hi there, Snappers! I'm on here to sing, listen to good music, and meet nice people! And of course, to HAVE FUN!!! If you leave me a comment, or a PM, I will try to get back to you ASAP. But I am POKY!
I will get to your songs, and will spend some time enjoying and digesting your latest, and I will comment thoughtfully, never cut-and-paste!!!
I was off from here for a few years, so you won’t find any recordings in 2018, 2017, or 2016.
PLEASE DON'T USE ANY GIGANTIC OR SPARKLY GRAPHICS OR ANIMATIONS.
They will be deleted.
I prefer a comment or a few words of critique, or just a Love It Button, thanks!
I usually sing in a bass-baritone voice which is way lower than most, so I try to pick songs that suit that vocal range. Sometimes, I also stretch up high, when the song calls for it.
I also like to whistle, and I am pretty good at it, even with asthma. I know it's not to everyone's taste, but we whistling fans are out there, believe me.
At the bottom, there are links to some of my better whistling songs, if anyone is curious.
I have gotten so much better as a performer from hearing myself recorded live on here, and by taking the helpful hints, advice, and instruction of fellow Snappers who are looking out for my best possible efforts. I will try to do the same with you, just ask for my honest opinion in a PM.
I have suffered for most of my adult life from crippling depression and anxiety, which runs deep in my family’s genes.
My only brother, a fine musician and USMC band veteran, took his own life in 2005.
When I sing or listen to “Over the Rainbow” he is just over my shoulder, as this was his favorite song.
Our Irish heritage has gifted us with a natural affinity for music, humor, and the gift of gab.
Those tools always kept me going, but singing and whistling had been calling to me as a way to join a musical community.
I stumbled onto Singsnap when I was looking for a way to open myself up, to sing in public and not just in the car or the shower.
It was a blessing to find so many wonderful people who have music welling up out of them, needing to be shared and enjoyed with friends.
