I AM JUST A MAN WHO FOUND JESUS AS SAVIOR AND LORD AND HERE IS A MESSAGE FROM THE LORD MY GOD. WHY GOOD IS NEVER GOOD ENOUGH I am no preacher but I don’t believe I have to be to read and understand the Bible. I am a professing Christian saved by Grace through Faith that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and died on a cruel cross for the worlds sin including mine and that He arose from the dead after 3 days and has gone on to heaven to prepare a place for me and others. This action by the Lord ultimately defeated Satan and evil and finally death itself if we will only believe these words and give our lives completely to Him. The gift we receive is eternal life of nothing but praise, joy, and peace with the Lord in Heaven and much much more while we are still here on earth. Read John 3:(16-21) to get the full effect of this action. The honest reason that I am including John 3:(17-21) instead of the well known and usual John 3:16 is because in a very real sense and because of it being what I saw as obvious misuse or at least in my mind not used correctly by many preachers I had heard through the years it gave me personally a comfort about my salvation that was absolutely misguided and false. At least in my mind and I know that I am not alone in this is that I believed that once you believed about Jesus you could just go right on living life any way you pleased. What a horrible and dangerous lie this was. The book of John 1:(16-21) reads this way. 16“For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whomever believed in Him should not perish but have eternal life”. 17”For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world but to save it”. 18”Whomever believes in Him is not condemned but whomever does not believe stands condemned already because they have not believed in the only begotten Son of God:. 19”This is the verdict”. Before I finish verse 19 lets consider Gods Word for a moment. Who can give a verdict. In America it is either a jury or a judge. Here it can only be God because He is indeed Judge, Jury, and Executioner as is absolutely correct because only God is qualified to make a Perfect Judgement. Now we will start verse 19 again and finish it this time. 19”This is the verdict. Light(Jesus) has come into the world but men loved darkness instead of Light because their deeds were evil. 20 “Everyone who does evil hates the Light and will not come to the Light for fear that their deeds will be exposed. 21”But whomever lives by the Truth comes into the Light so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God”. As you should now see and understand there is more action to Salvation than just the passive saying you accept Jesus and nothing more. While Salvation is indeed a free gift of God(If it wasn’t how would you purchase it? this the easy part. It is impossible to do) I have never seen a person that was truly saved including me that it did not change the heart which is indeed required profoundly. The first thing I wanted to do was to tell everybody about it and that is what I have seen in all truly converted persons. If that is not there then I have reasons to doubt the truth of the conversion. The Baptism of the Holy Spirit which is what happens to all believers Acts (16-18). This is Peter(A Jew) speaking...16”Then I remembered what the Lord(Jesus) said “John(meaning John the Baptist) baptized with water but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit”. 17”So if God gave them the same gift that He gave us(the Jews) who believe in the Lord Jesus Christ who was I to think I could oppose God. 18”When they (the Jews) heard this they had no further objections and praised God saying “So God has granted even the gentiles repentance unto Life”. Now it is clear here that every person who is truly saved receives the Holy Spirit who helps to live our new found life more fully than you can even imagine. I know because He(the Holy Spirit) has changed me profoundly and I also know that He will change any true Christian dramatically, otherwise what would be the point of it all. He helps me immensely every single day. The Baptist church and the multitude of preachers that I have heard over the years just seems to love the “Once saved, always saved” platform which I have never denied but then that always seems to leave plenty of room for some of the most vile and wicked individuals, including some pastors and deacons that are full of greed, envy and uncountable wickedness to certainly not be lost but just terribly backslidden. I have watched some continue to ‘backslide right to their end. I would certainly never want to risk my eternal destiny on that type of living and then have to face a Just but angry God. I have read the Bible through and I find no place for any such action by a true Christian. It therefore becomes clear to me that “True Faith” will have good works according to Christ’s own words. Galation 5:6 says “For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision nor uncircumcision has any value. The only thing that counts is faith expressing itself through Love“. What a concept. Here it would appear clearly that True Faith expresses itself through Love which is exactly what God is. Do you honestly think that the people I described as being examples of just being terribly backslidden Christians fits this concept of being saved at all in any meaningful way? According to my Lord Jesus I think not at all. I don’t have to judge anyone or anything to know within at the very least a reasonable doubt these so-called backslidden Christians have fruit that is rotten to the core if they have any fruit at all. According to some of Jesus parables and I can easily paraphrase this that If the Gardener who is certainly God Almighty finds rotten or no fruit He cuts it off and throws it in the fire to be burned. Wow, I wonder what that means? I think we all know what that means and it ain’t good for that persons eternity I can assure you. This is how my Study Bible explains Galations 5:6 in a more clear way. Gal 5:6 “We are saved by Faith, and not deeds but Love for God and for others is the response of those whom God has forgiven(saved). What? You mean when we are saved we respond in a particular way and don’t just go about the world and do any old thing we like whether it is right or wrong? Boy does that change my understanding of some of the folks I know and have known. Well since every word in the Bible is the inspired word of God no matter what any human being would like it to be, what do I make of all these numerous but backslidden Christians? Could it be that they were never really saved at all. That somehow there was something in their life that they could not or would not let go of to the point that they had on purpose forgotten themselves because it just didn’t fit the life they wanted to live? I can say and know this was true without reservation because it happened to me for about 30 years. Understand this, that if anything at all is in your life ahead of Jesus Christ and you have never let it go I believe that whatever it is is your god because I know it was mine. While I would never judge or even make such a statement to anyone personally unless really powerfully lead to do so, I will love Jesus Christ and keep His Commandments because I know that this is required of me and not only that but the Holy Spirit causes me to Love others and truly and deeply care for their future in eternity like I never dreamed I even could before I was “Born Again” which is another word for saved. The Holy Spirit in me in much more real to me that this insane circus going on all around me that we call life. Is the Holy Spirit clearly in your life and do you exhibit the changes daily as He does His work? This is certainly a question only you can answer to the depth of the Heart which is indeed required but I assure you that other truly committed Christians can read your fruit like a “Dick and Jane” Childs elementary school book. If you don’t know and understand this then you are truly blind as a bat. All I would ask is that you search your heart and the scriptures, pray daily and perhaps in a simple way even like a child ask yourself this one question. Before we do(or do not do as the sins are the same to God) anything of any consequence stop long enough to ask If He were here right now “What would Jesus Do”? This very action on my part after my salvation and reading the book “In His steps”. “What would Jesus do”? showed me that even then my life could and should be so much more like Jesus than it was and is and on my continuing this action on a daily basis has drawn me closer to my Master and Lord Jesus than I could have ever dreamed possible. With what is truly at stake here(1. Eternity with God in Heavenly Paradise) or (2. Eternity without God in a more terrible than a human can even imagine “Devils Hell”). It should certainly be worth looking into so that you won’t make the most horrible error that can be made. No matter what any other religion says there simply are no second chances after you die. Hebrew 9”27 clearly states “And it has been appointed unto men(meaning all mankind) once to die, But after this the Judgement. My deepest and most sincere prayer that I will ever pray is that you be ready to meet God and you do not want to meet him without the Holy Spirit in your life and that only comes with a true commitment to Jesus Christ.
