Hi, My name is Richard Norman. I live in Dallas, Texas. I am 89 years old. I have sung all of my life. My grandfather taught me to sing from the age of 4, and he taught me to read music. I studied voice to sing opera since I was 16 years old. I sang in the Dallas Symphony Chorus for 14 years and the Dallas Opera Chorus twice. I sang with other symphony choruses 20 more years. I read the world's most difficult music like I can read words.

I also was a commercial free lance artist in Dallas most of my life as well as a gospel preacher. I have always loved art and music. I was married to my beautiful wife, Jodie for 61 years. I sang to her often. Anytime we were alone, she would ask me to sing to her all her life.

We had 6 children. I like to tell people that all of them were girls except 5. The first 3 were boys and finally, we had a little girl. Then came twin boys. I told my wife, "When the boys start coming in two's it's time to quit."

I lost my singing voice when I was 78 years old. Up until then, my voice was still strong and sounded young. I had almost three octave's range. I was taking voice until then as well. I lost my voice for about 10 years. I could talk, but was unable to sing a note.

I was misdiagnosed having Parkinson's and medications got me in Hospice Care in 2015, but I got a new doctor who determined I never had Parkinson's, and began weaning me off 19 meds, and I have improved dramatically. I'm down to 2 pills and am in perfect health except for a bit of vertigo causing me to need a walker, but I have no aches or pain now.

Then, in May of 2017, I began feeling like I could sing again and started trying to sing. Now my youngest son, JoeTenor, has encouraged me to record here and set me up with my own account. Here I am, like it or not!
