16 years old, I lost my daddy at the age of 7 to a house fire. My daddy always sang to me before bed, from Kid Rock to The Temptations to Elvis. We would sing before bedtime. And I don't remember much, because I was so young. But I remember him telling me to never give up, go for what I want. And sing until I can't sing anymore. And that's what i'm doing. I'm shy, yes. But when i'm singing, I feel like it's just me. I'm free. I don't want to sing. I need to sing. It's as if it brings my daddy back to me. For just a few minutes. And it feels great.
