Yes, that is me in my profile picture. I was on the Morris B. Sachs Amateur Show in Chicago when I was three. That picture is from that time. Such a sweet memory for me.
This page is such a blessing to me! I love, love, love to sing and here I can sing without anybody hearing me, unless I want them to. LOL
When I was a very young child, probably three years old, I started singing with my Dad on a local radio show that he had in Clinton, IL. He had his own show as he was a wonderful musician and singer. Unfortunately, I did not acquire all his talent, but I did get his love of singing. I sang with him on local tv shows and talent shows all over central Illinois. But at about the age of 8 or 9, I got my tonsils taken out. After that I just didn't sing anymore. I don't know if I couldn't or as my dad said, I couldn't stand still long enough to sing. I sang in chorus in school, but that was about it. On to marriage, kids, jobs, divorce, etc. Retired from Civil Service in 1997, but stay very busy with volunteer work in my community.
Many years later, 2010, I started going to a church that asked me to sing once in a while. It was a small church so not to intimidating and I did.
I can't seen to get my range back that I used to have. I keep practicing hoping it will come, but I think my 73 year old vocal chords are saying "that's enough." LOL
Anyway, I love this site. I love listening to all of you and I love singing and having an audience that doesn't laugh at me. My daughters think it's funny when I sing.
Thank each of you for every time you listen to a song of mine or make a comment. They all mean so much to me.
Happy Singing Everyone!!!
