I was born in Waterloo, Iowa but spent my early years in the western states. In 1949 my family returned to Iowa where most of my childhood memories were created.
I served six years in the U.S. Navy (1957-1963.) I particularly enjoyed my tour while in Alaska.
In July of 2001, I moved to Minnesota to marry Vivian
(Mitt4Kitts_MN). We met quite by accident on the Internet, a result of one of her emails that got sent to the wrong person (me.) Vivian is my salvation. We have a deep and committed love for one another.
I became a self made poet and writer because of my problem with manic depression. I found out that when I write it helps to keep my thoughts straight. Writing poetry helps even better. My poetry is not the classic kind filled with "thees" and "thous" but instead is the home spun type filled with "you" and "me" type words and references.
My wife says I have a vivid imagination. Recollections of my past provide me with material to write about. My best inspirations come from God. I truly believe that He guides my hand at times and has me write what He wants me to say.
I am not a professional writer/orator in any sense but I will say, that with God's help, I can write most of my poems in one setting of about an hour or less.
Well, this is who I am, just a sinner held in the arms of Jesus.
