I am notoriously bad at visiting other people's pages/songs, because when I get on here, I usually just record and am in my own little world, so forgive me if I don't (immediately) return the favor of a visit.
I also do not enter contests and such on here, because I don't think I'm good enough.
Make sure to check out my Dad, who's also on SingSnap.
A little trick I found out to keep recordings (especially the intros) clean: keep your microphone 'closed' until the music starts, then blend it in and fade out at the end, preferably before the music stops.
Don't worry if your microphone doesn't have an on/off or mute button: use the slider on the recording window.
Another thing you really want to avoid, because it causes issues you don't need: play the music over your speakers when you record. You really don't want to do that. All it does is create a pesky echo in your recording, especially if you use the 'make me sound better' option. (Unless you use a unidirectional microphone). It is a lot easier to get a cheap set of headphones or even those old 'walkman earplugs'
