I think taking down PC and replacing it with a Birthday Page is the BEST idea EVER Vicki!!!!!!!!!!!

It would give everyone a chance at being acknowledged, not just a chosen few.

So going with those odds..For an example..if this site has 10,000 members?
There should be at least 27 birthdays per day..on average..
The numbers may increase a lot though in the spring time?..
There's usually more birthdays in the spring..

Edited to say ,,out of 10,000 people it could be as much as 100+ people having birthdays at a given time..but the average should round out to 27 per day..roughly..lol

Yes, there would be some people that didn't like the PC being taken down, but I wouldn't miss it. Luvvvvvvvvv the birthday page :)))))))))))

To me, PC is what it is, and at the end of the day, it still is what it is. (Love that I took two catchphrases I hate the most and conjoined them together) LOL

I am for it...............if it showcases the person with the birthday and not just another way of people get traffic to themselves by singing a birthday song.

Also, should be an opt in or something because some people may not want attention drawn to themselves on their birthday or anytime for that matter.

Not sure exactly what is being proposed but sounds good.

On the PC page....................leave it too. I often go to look and sometimes find some incredible talent and songs.

I would also opt for a page dedicated solely to "Singsnap Originals". There are some very talented singer/songwriters/comedians on here that could spice up the site.

Nah.. Dont take down peoples choice because although there are some lames in there that doesnt mean you have to take it down for everyone. There are some awesome singers in the peoples choice that deserve and earn the right to shine. Do not take down the peoples choice..

Now a birthday page sounds cool but how is Singsnap going to know what song a person wants to be featured. Also Some people dont even like their songs being spotlight or featured because they dont want the spammers to spam their songs. This is a cool idea though and im for it.

But 1 thing im not for is Peoples Choice being taken down.

I watched 1 person who got their song removed by staff and that person was back in the Peoples Choice the next day.

It doesn't matter what the name of the page may be, there will be some self-promotion for votes. All the complaints and new rules/aspects will not change this fact because (some, not all) people will find a way to make it happen.

Yes, there is definitely self promotion by some...but there are also people who truely get moved by a performance or an artist. How is that so different than what we hear on the radio, see on TV, or see online being sold?

As I said before there are some fabulous recording on PC and some not so. There are only 50 songs on there.

So my point again is why give up one for the other? Should not be either/or.

I am for the BP page if it is done right. But if it is only people singing birthday songs for their friends then that too is self promotion.

Here is an example of a song I would not have heard if the PC was not there. And I am promoting nothing because I don't even know this person.

I think it would work well....just using the last public recording of the person who's birthday it is....I am pretty sure the system would find it easy to pick that up everyday.....

The problem I personally see....is perhaps some people not wanting it broadcast that it is their birthday....so an opt out feature in the settings section from the outset would probably work....like...next to the part that ask's you if you want to turn your patron status on or off...it could be called Birthday status yes/no...or something along those lines...

Another variation of that...would be if you turn your date of birth off to not show your age on your profile page....then that would be an opt out from the BP....

Another potential problem I see...is it picking up recordings of people who perhaps have left the site now etc....but I guess it could be tailored to only pick of recordings of members active within a certain time....

Yes, there are some fantastic singers on PC, however, there are some that will be there forever, not making room for others, thus the rotation idea...

THAT IS THE BEST IDEA I EVER HEARD....I HAVE BEEN IN PC BUT STILL THINK IT'S A TOTAL WASTE OF SPACE...IT'S JUST ALL BASED AROUND SPAMMING AND NOT TALENT.

Perhaps....the birthday people for just that day could automatically become a different colour nic for the day....rainbow coloured or something...with happy birthday next to their name...instead of gold....or snap star or whatever...

i think this a super great idea , but i can still see the spammers post happy birthday with a message like mine is in 3 days as a hint ................... what could make the page worst...................... is the best singer and the ones with lot of friends have huge comment................ and the less known people or not as good singer will eventually see the big difference since everything will be on the same page or they will get lot of free birthday spamming and like the spammer usually do they won t listen ........... but i would hope if they do it that it is successful... so go bp page
