This issue is a bug in the Adobe Flash Player 11.1 release. It's unfortunately out of our control. For more info about reverting see the link below.

Just letting you know, although I don't record that often, so I guess not necessarily a great guide, I updated to the beta Flash 11.2 correction you mentioned on all browsers and using Chrome for my last recording experienced no jumps :)
LOL - just as I said that, I checked the 'About Chrome' under settings to see if it told me what version I was using, and it said checking for updates... installing! :D Had to relaunch browser and did check very quickly a *'record' on cam... and nope, not jumping! :)
Chrome version is now: 15.0.874.121 m
I wonder why it does not update automatically and only does this when I go to About? Crazy! But I like it!
EDIT* clarifying, did not actually record but could see cam was not jumping in the cam view box is what I meant...

My videos are jumping too. Going to have to revert as well.

For now my problems seems to have worked themselves out...don't know how or why...have the latest Adobe 11 Flash Player..IE9 with Windows Vista...Knock on wood as it's working for now..just a little freeze the other day..but nothing like it was doing.
It seems that Adobe has a monopoly on these type Flash Players...as I tried to find another brand that interfaces with SS and recording...not any !

My revert to version 10 works in IE and in Firefox. I still like Chrome and have all my settings there. I like the bookmark bar for top favorites too, so I record in IE and do everything else in Chrome. I have noticed that if I do record in Chrome, it's not doing the Max Headroom type of jumping anymore. It does freeze for a second or so every so often in the video so I will keep recording in IE for now.

I just tried a video, it is still jumping, and I am in a contest where a funny video would do me good. I record in IE. When will this be fixed? :(

Most people are having better luck with the most up to date Flash Player version. You can download it here: http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Unfortunately, if that doesn't help the only solution would be to downgrade to Flash 10.1. The actual problem is within the Flash Player plugin, Adobe is supposed to be releasing a fix in their next version.

Still not an official fix from Adobe. The jumping video issue seems to be hit or miss. I've had it happen and I've also had times when it didn't happen. The only fixes are still reverting to Flash 10 or trying the beta Flash 11.2
