What is your Favorite TV Series?
Hi Doc,
That sort option was removed some time ago for performance and practicality reasons. The sort by ratings tended to place older songs first since they had more ratings.

Well using that same logic you should not be able to sort by views or comments either being they would tend to put the older songs first, as the oldest songs have the most views and comments.
I think they have eliminated a valuable tool taking away the ability to sort by rating.
I look at the ratings as much more important than the comments. Although I appreciate comments, let's be perfectly frank, they are meaningless. Everyone is nice here and no one gives constructive criticism. There is so much cutting and pasting going on in the comments, that 60 people can get the same comment from one person. AND comments have ID's attached to them; so who is going to give constructive criticism?
RATINGS on the other hand are anonymous and are a true representation of how those listening to your songs feel. Granted they will either give you a 5 or nothing at all, but at least that is how they really feel. Ratings are truly the only way you know if your song was worthy! If you get a 5, there was something about that performance that people enjoyed. If you have a ZERO, forget what the comments say, you need to work some more on that song.
If I were to look at all of my positive comments, well every song I sing should be a 5 because the comments are glowing. BUT that is not the case; every song isn't a 5. So the the ratings are extremely important. I have a Ph.D. in Psychology, I know how these things work, and what any one who is seriously interested in becoming a better singer is looking for is objectivity in people's opinions, not how big a sparkly graphic someone can leave on your page. You only get objectivity through the anonymous ratings.
I would like to see the ratings stay anonymous, but when a person leaves a comment, I would like to see it be mandatory that they have to rate the song before their comment will be posted.
Thank you for your response Rob, I appreciate you taking the time.

Sorry to burst your bubble..but the same person who goes around pasting a comment also can take just two seconds to tack on a 5 rating..doesn't mean they listened to you either.

I know I'm late here.. but I agree with Doc..
I have commented on this feature before and have
also stated that was how I did my eliminations as well..
Why do you always mess with a good thing.??

I didn't even know there was a 'sort by ratings' option! LOL...and I've been here since 2006!
Could be because I never have ratings on I suppose...and another flippin' good reason to do away with them altogether! You could have a blinding recording that just hasn't garnered enough stars for your liking, so you've deleted it.

I never rate anybody...but everyone I listen to gets a comment...if your suggestion was implemented, I'd never be able to comment on anyone :O

What happen to the function where you could sort my ratings function?
I used to use that function quite often to decide which of my songs to keep and which to discard. It also helped me to listen to the differences between the same song, one in which I had a rating of 5 and the other where I had no ratings at all. It helped me listen to the different way I performed those songs.
So where did that function go?
Thanks!
Doc
