Thanks everyone. I just wrote something that represented all the different styles displayed in our music. I feel there is beauty in all of it and was just wondering if other people share my thoughts.

Well, everyone can't make it!! Maybe, for our sake, it's better off not making it, because it is a BUSINESS first and foremost. That's why all of these celebs end up drinking and taking drugs, getting married for a few days, then divorced (or annulled). The big time isn't all it's cracked up to be.

You got that right. Why just the other day some young girls stopped their white SUV just to take a photo of me walking my dogs. It was quite unnerving. I think my dog must have caught their eye since she was wearing a pink camo coat. lolololol

One of the bartenders at one of the places where I sing pulled into the parking lot of a convenience store one day just I was walking out...recognized me right away even though I had no makeup on and had my hair stuffed up under a baseball cap...gee you don't suppose he's a fan do you?It sounds like they were amazed with the pink camo coat you had on the dog. There have been other times when I've been in a bar and people come up to me and say "hey, I saw you down at so-and-so's the other night" and crap like that...mostly people I don't even KNOW for cryin out loud...whassup with that?

No, but a black limo tinted car visited my driveway a few months back. Private investigator... I reported it to my local Sheriff's dept. I know who hired them. Go figure why that person chose to waste their money and other people's time chasing after something which doesn't exist. I have no trespassing signs up now (per my Sheriff Department's recommendation). If they return I can have them arrested for trespassing (and I would). :D

I like most genres and will sing just about anything. However, I am most comfortable with Blues because it comes naturally to me. I'm lately fascinated with Johnny Cash... he was an amazing talent and, although considered by most to be a country singer, he had a bluesy voice I enjoy listening to. There is just special something there. Chris Martin from Coldplay also has that special something although he is not a Blues singer either. I really like Dave Matthews as well.

LOL... we get stealth going over our house all the time. Fort Campbell is not too far away and we just happen to be in their flight path. My son and I saw two one day when we were out walking, jet black, flying low, hardly any sound and all... really amazing.

Oh, and it wasn't a limo, it was a muscle car, jet black, with limo tinting. When I called the police they said they had one just like it on their fleet but it was not out at the moment. It was the police who told me it was a P.I. I know it sounds like I should be wearing a tinfoil hat but it is the truth, hand to God.

Same here Spitfire! At heart, I am a country singer, but I do enjoy extending myself into different genres. Country has so many subsets these days that alot of country songs are actually Pop songs!

I am just the opposite of ya'll. I am more of a jazz/soft pop/bigband/film genre kind of singer. I started venturing into country of lately just to prove to myself I could do it and strengthen my lower registry. I find jazz better to sing when my asthma is acting up. Most of it allows for improv on notes, style, and phrasing. Plus it works great for softer vocals.

Well Reba has always had that in her voice. It is probably just her own personal gimmick. I'm not crazy about it either, but she is a great talent. Reba kind of meanders around, singing pop and country, but whatever she sings is always great. As for country music, that genre has the biggest identity crisis of any genre out there. I think, when the Urban Cowboy craze started, and country got a big lift, they bent the genre to reach more people, thereby losing it's identity. Today, practically anything can pass for country music, which is really a shame. Country music has strong roots and it's a shame to see it so muddled down with pop and rock. For me, i can sing most anything, and alot of music resonates with me, so from a singing viewpoint, I'm ok with it, but I do wish that country would stick with the premise of country music.

Jubi, I sing some Reba tunes, and you'll be glad to know that I don't sing them with the Reba slide, lol!! I just do them my own way!! I used to go to alot of concerts, before my song was born, in 1990, and I got the opportunity to meet the Bellamy Brothers, Eddie Rabbitt, Janie Fricke, and Larry and Steve Gatlin. All of them, except the Gatlin's, set up in the lobby, after the show, for autographs and pictures, and they were all very friendly. The Gatlin's did a Christmas show, and my wife heard that the children, who had joined them on stage, would be sticking around for autographs. So when everyone else cleared out, we just stayed in our seats. Then we went up to the stage. Larry and Steve both came out, but Rudy, I guess, was tired and never came out. I spoke with Larry for a few minutes and we had our pics taken with him, but he was really tired and not in the greatest mood. But anyway, country is one genre where the artist's appreciate the fans.

I just wanted to convery my appreciation for this site and my amazement at the talent I have come across. Each and everyone one of you are wonderful in your own way. Each of you have talent that is solely yours. Try to never feel otherwise. I wrote something that expresses the greatness of the versatility, entertainment, and style I have come across while on Singsnap. Perhaps you will glimpse the different singing styles or the various genres as you read my poem. Hopefully I didn't get too deep, lol. If I did, my apologies.
