Hi Terry
Its not a bad idea to have the choice I guess but there is no way I would consider that button a begging button.
I sponsor and have found that button helpful to me at times when wanting to sponsor someone. If it is someone I really dont know I will PM them to ask if they mind being sponsored.
I dont understand why its such a big deal to you.

WHILE BEING TWO DIFFERENT PEOPLE, WE OF COURSE HAVE TWO SEPARATE OPINIONS. I AM JUST SAYING AND MANY OF MY FRIENDS ARE OF THE SAME MIND..SOME NOT
THAT AS IN BEING GOLD OR NOT IT IS LEFT UP TO EACH INDIVIDUAL.
I THINK WE SHOULD HAVE THAT SAME OPTION HERE

You did ask for gold responses also in your OT... That I do not fully agree with you was my response... Please be more specific if you only want those in full agreement with you to respond... Note that I did say the idea of choice wasnt a bad idea.

I saw that we didn't agree with only 1 point
people like myself and many
thinking of it as a begging button and some don't
that was the point I was trying to make
perhaps it should be moved to this area
it would give people the chance to sponsor
and yet seem less offensive...

Well I guess you are not a Canadian Native Indian born in the 1950's
where you were placed on reserves and handed little money and no hope, From an early age our family move to Vancouver (1965) because our older brother had cancer and later passed away.
My mother and Father died in a tragic boating accident when I was 2 and my grandparents raised me..they were old and adopted me..my brother and 2 others while having 6 children of their own
They fought hard to raise us without government support and I guess it rubbed off on all of us kids
We pulled our weight when at times it was so bad for jobs and even renting a house,,once they realized we were Natives..
My wife and i fought hard to raise our children right and care for others..our oldest daughter works for the government (go figure) in the taxation department..our only son is a R.C.M.P officer also government..lol and our youngest daughter just graduated...
so..that's why it is such a big deal to me.....
no more than a silly man's pride.......

Ahhh now I get where you are coming from, Terry. I am sorry you had such a traumatic childhood but from what you say you and yours have come through and standing tall. Pride - yes you should hold onto that cos you deserve it.
No I am not a Canadian born of the 50's. I was born in England of the 40's - during WW2. I also had my own trauma to deal with.
Ohhh I just noticed you are Gold!!! I had nothing to do with that Terry ~ I honour the wishes of others.
Let us agree to disagree on the opening topic shall we, please.

HOW-EVER..I FEEL IT IS UP TO EACH BLUE MEMBER TO ALLOW THE "SPONSOR" BUTTON BESIDE YOUR NAME ON EACH SONG
I AM BLUE NOW AND THAT'S BY CHOICE AND I HAVE IN THE PAST SPONSORED 2 YEAR MEMBERSHIPS,1 SIX MONTH MEMBERSHIP AND A FEW 1 MONTH MEMBERSHIPS FOR CONTESTS
ALL WERE DONE FOR FRIENDS AND I HAVE NO REGRETS DOING SO
THEY WERE NOT BECAUSE OF YOUR (IN MY OWN WORDS AS I SEE..A BEGGING BUTTON)
I WOULD LIKE TO MAKE THAT CALL MYSELF
