I wasn't sacred, it takes more than that. (Ok, I lied, but someone had to try and be tough.)

Uuggghh..sick as a dog. Won't be singing for a while. :~(
Ok as someone who has been playing with the new recorder for quite a while now.
I think it's a HUGE improvement over the old one!!
There were a few bugs during the beta testing, but they were addressed and repaired quickly and effectively. right now I think it's just about the best improvement you've made to the site since I started here.
:~)

incredible new player I have been trying it out for the past few weeks and it is great ~ was having issues with the recorder it wouldn't let me record but I could use the beta remixer ~ I am glad to see the techs working so hard and finally getting rid of the bugs!!! it certainly sounds much more crispy and clear and the new features on the lyric + - is absolutely genus!!! rock on SS!

In a word, EXCELLENT!!! One of the best additions by a staff that is always trying to make the site better. I honestly don't know how much more they can add to an already remarkable site. Kudos to the programmers, from a former programmer!!! :)

I have recorded a couple songs and I actually don't really care for it.
My question is when I record a song I have to have the mix volume almost at the far left (voice) and I am still quite faint in my recordings on words. I have moved the record volume up and the music volume down while recording too, but didn't have this problem in the existing program -- any suggestions?
Also, although addressed, I don't really understand the answer. The existing program had the "preview accuracy" lights (green, yellow, red). I found that really helpful for me as my ear is not the best and I am not a strong singer, but I found I could rely on those buttons to help me determine if I wanted to post the recording or not -- the new program doesn't seem to have this assistance and I feel lost now.
I hope I made sense. I am not very computer friendly. Thank you for any help - I just feel really deflated with the new system.

Life is beautiful !
I have been playing with the recorder for quite a while now and i was in love with it from the first minute and after all this time i even love it more. This is a fantastic player.
I would like to thank everyone who's been working hard to get it running.

Novella, I recorded with the new recorder tonight and there is something different about the sound. The only way to explain it is that it seems like it's cutting the reverb off before it finishes it's natural decay. I don't know if they made changes to MMSB or what, but there is something definitely different about the sound. I guess that you guys are beta testing it with us, so i hope my input helps. Think I'm going to stick with the old until that issue is cleared up.

I'm so glad that the new player has been rolled out to everyone. I know there are still some outstanding problems that are being ironed out but the recorder is so much better than the old one! Glad that everyone gets to enjoy it now! I wouldn't dream of going back to the old recorder afer using the new one lol

First time Ive used the Beta mixer to do a duet ...Had sync problems and finally got it to sound half way decent at 125+!!! Never had to do that before ..using the original mixer it will usually mix at -1 -2 or -3 Havent had to go any higher than that to get the sync problems worked out ...I love the sound of the new mixer but not sure I will be using it to do duets!! Hope I dont have to do that every time I do a duet??
Just thought I would post this here and maybe I could get some help to why the sync was so high??...Thanks for ur help Otherwise I LOVE the new sound of it and been using it for awhile now when it will let me!!
I can sing a song and it wont buffer and that is a problem when I can get the song right and it wont buffer and I have to redo it..

In the old recorder, the lights didn't mean your voice was lined up with the music, it just meant that what you were hearing was a close approximation to what the final mix would sound like. It was (and still is) up to you to pick the sync values.
Also, the voice levels in the old recorder weren't very accurate or reflective of the final outcome.
Now, the Mixer sounds nearly identical to the final mix, so if your voice is too low, turn up the recording level inside The Recorder before you record.
Hope this helps!

Hi Marshall_Dillon. You're right, the MMSB is a little different. It uses a better noise cutoff to get rid of the usual hiss that mose people have. It will also cut off the trailing end of reverb if it's too quiet.
I suggest you try turning up the recording level. Try this: turn it up all the way, enable "Clipping Detection" and sing full strength for about 15 seconds. It will automatically turn itself down to a safe level.
Then, you should be good to go!

You certainly don't have to do that on every duet, though it is happening to some people on occasion. If you can, please PM me a link to the recording.

Omgggggggg, thankx so much for my lil mood I luv it.
I tried a duet last night with the new recorder & just had problems mixing it, I couldn't really understand about the - & + buttons,
so I deleted the duet & went back to the old recorder.
I hope the old recorder will still be there for us that can't fully understand the new recorder yet.

The new recorder does seem to be a nice upgrade, however, I am experiencing some timing issues. First after I recorded the video looked like it was out of a Bruce Lee movie, LOL... What I was singing didn't line up with my video. I kept clearing settings and running the wizard again which seemed to help that, but now I still feel like there are places in my recent recordings where my vocals were a little of with the instrumental... It is "possible" it was me, but I really think it was the recording.

I've tried a few times to record on the new recorder but it doesn't get past the preview page with the rotating circles....I'd love to try it out but I don't get to the mixer stage. I've run the wizard numerous times....
Also, on the old recorder, my mic level went really high, into distortion, even though I turned the volume down.
Now, the mic level is really low...even with volume turned right up.
I know it's not the mic and I had no problems recording before today.
Thanks, if anyone can help.

We have an FAQ about clipping protection. There are also a few other FAQ's related to the Improved Recorder.

Did you save the recording? Sometimes the preview video may be off some, but normally it saves in sync. If you saved the song can you PM the link to me? If you didn't save the song can you save one and send the link?

Here is a quote from Jason about what to do in these circumstances.
SingSnapSupport will help you out. We'll need to get some information from you, etc.If you, or anyone, gets this problem *PLEASE* do the follow. Click to save the recording anyway, using the "I like it, let's proceed to saving it" link, then mark the recording as private and save it, then PM the link to SingSnapSupport.

The stuttering you're hearing is somewhat normal. However, it should only happen if you make large sync changes or skip through the preview some. It shouldn't happen when just listening. I suspect something is running in the background that is causing this. You'll want to make sure you have any unneeded programs closed. Also, make sure you only have one browser open with only the tab you're using to record.
Edited to add: This shouldn't affect the saved song.

Tried the improved recorder.....love it so far.........don't know of any listener will love my sound 2 though ..lol
Had a problem with recording a duet......it loads the part of the duet-partner and than......nothing .....it stops recording..... and goes straight to previeuw.......I really didnt get a chance to sing any note of my part.............it is a bit funny...........but not nice
Reply by MicflexGOLD
The recorder detects clipping but my vocal is very low unless I use the MMSB feature which I do not want as I use effects and a mixer.
Also, is there any chance of having the MMSB off as default
Reply by JasonSTAFF
Micflex, the record level is the same as the old recorder if you turn off MMSB. However, the level meter is all new and much more accurate.
Crank up the record level meter in the recorder, turn on clipping detection and sing loudly for 15 seconds until it stabilizes.. This should provide adequate volume without MMSB.

I've potentially fixed a large portion of the "endless spinning circles" while Preparing Preview. However, it may not be the answer people are looking for: if you got that, you may have had another error in which the system just did nothing.
Now, it will report one of two new errors: Error 3 or Error 5. If you get these, report back to customer service. There is also some tips onscreen if the error comes up.

It's nice to see a site that adds improvements to it's main function......I love the volume control feature the best cause those"clippings" were killin me...hahahah.
SingSnap is far superior to whatever else is out there!
Thank You!
