This is going to be a RE_POST to save confusion!
Hi everyone!Like I said before.. this is my new account.. I do not sing on the __Data account anymore..
I have got sorta some good news for the community.. I have taken up another programming language which enables me to create programs now that are cross-platform.. meaning they will work on Windows, Mac, and Linux..
So for my first project I am re-writing my original smiley program here so that everyone in the community can benefit from it
I am about 1/2 through it now.. also made a few improvements to it.. I added a tool tip text.. so when u hover over the smiley, it tells u what it is.. this is what it looks like right now:
am hoping all goes smooth and it will be done soon.. it is really a lot of work.. but am pleased to be able to offer the "Whole" community this program..
I do not have a Linux or Mac system to test it on so I will need some input from users that do have those systems when I release it
Just flag this thread and check for the update when I do have the program finished.. the older version will still work for everyone that already has it

Hello everybodyam pleased to announce the development is complete
am going to provide you with 3 download links (one for each operating system)
Please choose the link that describes your system for download.
You must extract ALL FILES into one folder and keep the program with the folder included of the program will not work.
I also would like some feedback from linux and mac users about how the program works on your operating system.. thanks

Good luck with the test under Apple® Mac OS® X™. I understand Mac OS® to be more forgiving in file placement than LinUX.BCSchmerker2has anyone tested this on Mac yet?Waiting for feedback..
Bob--Turbo--
Apparently no-one has yet tested it? Will do then!stimbe1Mac OS IS Linux mate! stimbe1
Sorry Timo,
MAC is not Linux or vise versa.. two separate operating systems..

Look beyond the surface of the MAC OS (oh well or any Linux) and you'll see what I mean Bob LOL ;-)

Btw just testing the MAC OS/POSIX port ![]()
Looks like it works fine
why would it not!

And this post is composed with the Linux port using Ubuntu ![]()
Works a charm ... all one needs to do is grant execution rights to the binary
hence should someone like to try it...:
1) unzip the package
2) move to the folder the contents were extracted to
3) give commands
chmod 700 Smile-Awhile
./Smile-Awhile![]()
...and you're up and running!
Cheers, Timo

I wish there was was a program that would allow larger images to be posted in this manner. I have 23 galleries (pages) of Sing Snap comment graphics... and around 2,000 animated peace designs. As it is now, people have to copy a code from the site... The traffic is nice, but I don't make them for that reason. (The site is ad free and something I pay for). The images rage from 250 wide to 300 wide... They are optimized. Is it possible?

I got an answer from someone else that makes these
smiley apps... It is possible. :) So, thank you anyway.

makes these smiley apps?
you must mean someone who stole my idea LOL
anyways, yes it is possible in every way

We Love To Help!
For the record: This site has been around since October 2006 and almost since its conception people have requested the ability to have emoticons in the comment section.
As for the design themes, SingSnap started doing those first and unless they are made 100% from scratch by a designer, there is nothing original about those either as the images are usually taken from the internet.
What our members have done is taken pre-existing ideas and expanded upon them, improving them and offering them to their fellow community members. We appreciate their contributions to the community :) Regardless of who does what, when and who's idea it was. The end result is what is important and that is happy Snappers.
I am going to lock this thread from further comments as per request by the OP. If you have any questions or comments please contact Bob via Private Message.
