BATTLE OF THE MUSICIANS OFFICIAL CONTEST

Rules:
1) No recording non SS songs using the SS Original recorder unless they are YOUR original song written by you.
2) Any SS song permitted, (or song written by you) and any genre accepted
3) Harmony feature allowed but you must make available to us all parts whether they are public or inner circle (Only Al and I are required to be added for the extra parts)
4) Fresh recordings only. Must be dated after 8pm today.
5) You will have one week from the date we start to get your song in. Song entries deadline will be May 13th @ 8pm SS time.
6) You must play an instrument AND sing.
7) You may use the SS backing music OR you may turn that off and just play and sing. The choice is yours.
8) No lic songs I’m afraid. We simply can’t judge what we can’t hear.
9) Performances must be on cam.
10) Please leave colored to text for host and judges

Some people play better then they sing or vise versus; for this reason we have decided on a separate category for both. Where you may be weak in one area, you can make up for in another. You will be judged on a 1-10 scale on the following:

1) Mix: How well did you mix the backing music with both you vocals and accompaniment? If no backing music was used, how well did you mix your vocals and your accompaniment?
2) Song choice: This is a mistake so many in SS make. Was the song out of your league? The song should compliment your abilities and style, not work against you.
3) Vocals: Were you on key. Did you get pitchy or flat?
4) Playing ability: When playing your instrument did you miss cords or notes? Were you flat or on key?
5) Originality: Did you make the song your own or did you play and sing exactly like the original artist?
6) X-factor or wow factor: On a scale of 1-10 where did you fall in the “you blew us away” category?
