You are invited - Find a partner and make any non duet Christmas/Holiday song into a duet.

Welcome to the challenge season of year three. Our wonderful hostess, VitaminDee, had to terminate the "contest" prematurely. We would be remiss to not thank her for the amazing work she has done on the site and allowing us to use what she has created to set up this challenge

Shortly after the termination, we had many Snappers request that they would like to continue singing the planned events. VitaminDee agreed to let we elves finish the 4 remaining events as a "challenge". This means that we will be singing, having fun, listening and commenting on our friends posts. However, there will be no prizes or other trinkets earned. Based on this we have removed much of the "contest" related information to handle a challenge.

Welcome to year three. the challenge season. We're putting together a collection of treasured Christmas/holiday songs. To ensure you get to sing the songs you love best; this is a Christmas/Holiday song scavenger hunt.

Each week is a new challenge. Weekly in a new thread under the challenges tab, there will be a new Christmas/holiday song scavenger hunt hunt. Enter as much or as little as you wish.

Questions? Send a pm to our new hostess TeaCup10.
The entire hunt will be posted below. Begin searching & singing as soon as you wish. Wait until the corresponding week to post your entry.

Please sing what makes you happy. Choose any recognized Christmas/holiday song that you think fits each scavenger hunt best.

This year, we are challenging you to look beyond your 1st choice.
Variety is the goal. Google, Bing, Wikipedia and other popular search engines are great ways to introduce you to a new-to-you holiday song. Each topic was tested by a team of Christmas song testers.

I'm working on a duet. My partner is trying to get it done for me, he's really busy. But I'll try to make it in time! I'll listen later! I'm working on my own 2 upstairs bedrooms. I planned to earlier this year, got everything ready. So now I'm goin' for it before I go to the next 4 jobs.

Have a great day!

BonnieK4506,

That video is so cute! You find the most wonderful videos to post. I love it!

Guys, I am asking you all to find a Christmas recipe that you would like to post on our thread. In my family, my grandmother and aunt used to get together to make "Aunt Bill's Brown Candy". It's sort of a brown sugar and nut fudge.

Do any of you have a treat that your family always has at Christmas? One that you just couldn't do without on that special day?

Teacup10LEVEL 66

Reply by Teacup10GOLD

I learned about this treat from a co-worker and have made it every year since. It's easy and really delicious. It supposedly makes 32 servings, but I've never seen anyone stop with just one.

Ritz Cracker Toffee

Ingredients

40
Ritz™ crackers SAVE $
1
cup butter
1
cup sugar
1/2
teaspoon salt
1
teaspoon vanilla
1
bag (11.5 oz) milk chocolate chips (2 cups)
1
tablespoon Betty Crocker™ candy sprinkles

chopped pecans

Steps:

Heat oven to 350. Line a 12x10x1 inch pan with foil and spray with non stick cooking spray.

Line 40 Crackers in a single layer in the pan.

In a 2 quart saucepan cook butter, sugar and salt over medium heat until butter is melted. Stirring frequently, bring this to a boil for 7-9 more minutes. It will be a light brown color. Add vanilla and stir.

Immediately pour mixture evenly over the crackers. Spread to cover.

Bake 13-15 min. Cool completely for approx. 2 hours and break into pieces

IF you want, put the chocolate, nuts or sprinkles over this right after it comes out of the oven. Smooth the chocolate when it gets melty.

I'll look for my famous cookie recipe. An older lady I worked for back in the 70's gave it to me. I used to get LOTS of recipes back then...and lots of dinners cooked...iced tea and cookies in the afternoon. They loved to feed you! I miss those times! And I put up a background in my video to cover some of my "in progress room messing up work". LOL! It didn't totally work, but "It's Christmas"!

Eva G. Old Fashioned Sorghum Cookies

Mix together:
1 c. brown sugar-firmly packed
3/4 c. shortening
2 eggs-beaten
1/4 c. sorghum or molasses
2 c. sifted flour
1/4 teas. salt
2 teas. soda
1/2 teas. each ginger-cloves-cinnamon

Chill in bowl overnight or longer. Roll in small balls-roll in sugar-gently press with fork and bake at 350 degrees about 10 or 12 minutes.

These are so soft and good! Everyone loves them. I've been making them for many decades now.

These sound like some cookies that my grandmother used to make. I love sorghum and molasses both. They are similar. Do the cookies taste different made with each of them?

I'll try these this year.

Also, thank you for your entry!

I've always used molasses. They probably are similar, but this is just a special recipe. They have always gotten rave reviews.
