Hi, if the tradition were that the bride and groom sing a song to each other at the ceremony, do you have an idea which song you would sing to your bride or groom?

Share with us if you like If you sing the song and want to post it here, feel free to share

If this were the tradition and I could go back in time, I would probably sing Music Box by Mariah Carey to my husband. Here's a link to me singing it and the comments contain the story of why it's a special song to me.

...Fast forward a few years, and I met the man who would become my husband. When we were getting to know each other, I told him that I could sing and of course he wanted to hear me. This was one of the first songs that I sang to him. Our relationship blossomed, and when he proposed to me, I was so grateful to finally have those things that I had longed for. On our wedding day at the reception, this was the first song that was played. I looked at my husband and sang along as we were about to cut the wedding cake.SoloSongstress

"Grow Old Along With Me"
John Lennon

The song is so easy to sing that even non-singers probably can do an acceptable job on it.

Female version by Mary Chapin Carpenter

I'm very much a maverick on the wedding songlist. I've ruled out Wagner and Bartholdy for the ceremony, being partial to actual Church music such as:

SUITE: WACHET AUF, RUFT UNS DIE STIMME, BWV 140 Nrr. 1, 4, 7 / BAND & ORCHESTRAL
(Philipp Nicolai/Johann-Seba?tian Bach) Bach-Ge?ell?chaft, GeMA

for the procession and:

FANFARE, INTRODUCTION, RICERCARE AND FUGUE: REVELATION 5:12b,13b / BAND & ORCHESTRAL
(Georg-Friedrich Händel/Charles Jennens; based on HWV 56 Nr. 54, 55) Boosey & Hawkes, PRS

for the recession. And to songs that sing like prayers, such as:

O PERFECT LOVE / TRADITIONAL
(Dorothy F. Gurney/Joseph Barnby) Sampson, Low, Marstow & Co., PRS

and

JOIN OUR HEARTS / PRAISE & WORSHIP
(Graham Kendrick) Kingsway's Thankyou Music, PRS

in the service. I'll have to get back to y'all on the duet proposal....
